Youth Yard Sale, April 26 & 27

Mark your calendars now for our 15th Annual Youth Yard Sale held to support our youth summer mission trip and Christian summer youth camp. The sale will be open first to you (our New Life Church Family) on Friday night April 26th from 6 - 8pm. This is a CASH-only sale (no checks, credit cards, Venmo or apple pay will be accepted).

The sale will continue on Saturday, April 27th from 9am – 2 pm when we will welcome the general public to scoop up some great deals and find some awesome treasures.

At noon Saturday, all unsold items will be reduced to ½ price at checkout.

Many of you have asked if you can donate items to be sold at our sale and the answer is a resounding YES! Our teens would live to sell your stuff, in fact we can't do it without your generosity! Starting April 22th and throughout that sale week, donations can be brought directly into the main hall of the Life Center where the teens will have tables setup waiting for your donations. The same drop off times apply, 10am - 1pm daily.

We can accept most items that have value for our sale but we ask that all clothing be donated to our Church Bargain Boutique to support that ministry as well.

*Please note that the teens are not accepting the following items:

Mattresses, large kitchen appliances (like refrigerators or stoves) nor can they accept most large furniture (night stands & coffee tables are ok) All items should be in working order.

Thanks in advance for your support of our youth yard sale!

Cuba Progress

Our sister church in Taguasco has opened four new missions this year in addition to the three already worshiping and teaching. The picture shows the attendance at the newest mission. Note the large number of children. This church has found that the best way to bring adults to know Jesus is through their children. We are working on a way for these missions to come to Taguasco occasionally to attend a regular service.

FREE Greeting Cards Available

We now have free greeting cards available in the church office for those of you who visit shut-ins or patients in the hospital or nursing homes. These cards are created and donated by our Crafters for Christ ladies.

We welcome anyone who would like to help create these cards (no experience needed). Our group meets every Wednesday 12:30-4:00 pm in Lenox Hall. Come for an hour or come the whole time. A great way to meet new people!

Revelation Class Added

A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Church family and friends,

What a beautiful week this has been. When I think back on younger years, it was the big, exciting things that took planning, great anticipation and thoughts of exciting things to come that seemed to encourage a sense of great hope. Now, it's quiet, encouraging, loving and almost gentle things that fill me with a deep sense of hope. Things like taking pictures of my great grand babies to go on the cover of my upcoming book of last year's articles, and spending time just watching them smile and make baby noises brings me such joy, peace and hope for their sweet little lives. Other things like family getting together - just to get together is huge for me and I pray it will continue even after I'm gone; and of course, having a great message at Sunday worship is always an answer to prayer. The so called "little things" now are the cause of peace and that much needed sense of hope. Life continues to be hectic, with busy schedules, and long to-do lists and concerns and worries over life problems. And I used to be the world's biggest worrier! I worried before things even happened but just in case they might happen. Of course, that was before I developed a stronger prayer life, and I learned a favorite verse; Philippians 4:6-7 "Don't worry about anything; pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." I know it sounds easy when in reality, it can be overwhelmingly hard. But, believe me when I say, to live without having to worry about everything, even things that haven't even happened yet, is a gift. We don't have to live like that, because God wants to provide what we need. We are blessed that we can put our trust in Him instead of in our worries. The apostle Paul tells how we can replace all-consuming worries with peace. I began using these three easy steps when I was attempting to develop a serious prayer life:

1) Stop worrying -

Push the pause button on consuming concerns.

2) Start praying -

  Tell God what you need.

3) Keep thanking God -

Remind yourself of God's faithfulness by thanking Him for what He's already done for you.

Springtime is always a reminder of hope for me - especially up North when the snow would finally melt and spring flowers would again burst through the soil - a beautiful significant hope. The Song of Solomon says, "The flowers are springing up and the time of the singing of birds has come. Yes, spring is here."

With the power of prayer, we can have hope any time we reach out to Him.

A special thank-you to Pastor Roy and his family for visiting our campus this past week. Thanks for a wonderful message Pastor Roy!

I'm praying for you!

Greetings from the Music Ministry

Hello New Life Church!

This past Sunday your congregational singing was out of this world!  It fills me with joy every week to hear the voices of New Life Church praising God and proclaiming Him in song.  Thank you so much for being a singing and praising church!

This Sunday our choral anthem is “You Are My All in All / Fairest Lord Jesus,”  by Dennis Jernigan, Arranged by Larry Shackley.  The Bible tells us that Jesus is all we need.  This is sometimes difficult for us to grasp, because we come from a culture that teaches us to always want more and we are oftentimes discontent and unsatisfied.   But no matter what it is that you feel you are missing, Jesus TRULY is all that we need in our lives.  He is the only way to fill the voids in our lives.  Here are some reminders from Scripture:

Philippians 4:19 - And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Romans 5:8 - For God showed His love for us in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

II Corinthians 12:9-10 - But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions and calamities.  For when I am weak, then He is strong.

Anthem Words for this Week - You Are My All in All with Fairest Lord Jesus

You are my strength when I am weak

You are the treasure that I seek

You are my all in all

Seeking you as a precious jewel

Lord to give up I’d be a fool

You are my all in all

Jesus, Lamb of God

Worthy is Your name

Jesus, Lamb of God

Worthy is Your name

Taking my sin, my cross, my shame

Rising again I bless Your name

You are my all in all

When I fall down You pick me up

When I am dry You fill my cup

You are my all in all

Fairest Lord Jesus

Ruler of the nations

O, Thou of God and man the Son

Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,

Thou my soul’s glory, joy and crown.

Beautiful Savior,

Lord of the Nations

Son of God and Son of Man

Glory and honor, Praise, Adoration

Now and Forevermore by Thine

We would LOVE to add more singers to the Chancel Choir.  If you love to sing, please consider joining us.  We meet on Thursday evenings from 7-9 PM (THIS IS A NEW TIME). We sing most Sunday mornings during the 9:15 service.  We have a wide variety of musicians with various backgrounds.  Please consider coming to a rehearsal to see if you would like to join us in this very fulfilling ministry.

At New Life Church, everyone in the music ministry is a worship leader.  Our aim is to...

Magnify the Greatness of God in Jesus name,

Through the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Skillfully combining God’s Word with music,

Thereby motivating NEW LIFE church to...

Proclaim the Gospel

Cherish God’s presence and

Live for God’s Glory

Our hymns this Sunday will be

# 102 - My Hope is Built

# 140 - I’d Rather Have Jesus

Joyfully,
