Salvation Army Volunteer of the Year

Every year our church organizes volunteers to ring the Red Kettle bell at Publix during the weeks leading up to Christmas. Our church family member, Walt Hopper faithfully signs up for 3 hour shifts most of those days!! The Salvation Army held their Volunteer Appreciation luncheon on April 2nd and honored Walt Hopper as their Volunteer of the Year.

Well done, Walt! Congratulations!

Mother's Prayer of Hope Food Drive

Our "Mother's Prayer of Hope" food drive to fill the shelves of the Salvation Army food pantry will run until Mother's Day. Donations of canned food and non-perishables may be delivered to the collection table in Lenox Hall.

New Life Easter Team - We need YOU!

Easter Sunday is one of the most highly attended services of the year, offering a wonderful opportunity to make a warm and welcoming first impression on our visitors.

We are still in need of parking lot attendants for all 3 services, hospitality/coffee for the 8:00 service and hospitality clean-up after the 11:00 service.

If you're available and interested in serving, please follow the link below to sign up. We will contact you with more details, including the details for our Easter Team Training (April 10, 11:30-12pm, or April 17, 1-1:30pm).

Men's Breakfast, April 12

Please Join us for our next Men's Breakfast, Saturday, April 12 at 8AM in Lenox Hall for fellowship and a presentation by Mason Weaver. Mason works as an author and motivational speaker. His goal is to change how people do business, interact with others, and to teach, train, and reach people with a message of hope for the future. He works hard to empower individuals with the tools they need to affect positive change in the world.

All men are welcome and encouraged to invite a guest. A Continental Breakfast will be provided. There is no charge for this event, but please RSVP by emailing Wayne Sharp: sharpww@me.com.

Palm Crosses for Easter Sunday

Many hands are needed in order to make 2,000+ crosses from palm fronds. Please come on Tuesday, April 15, 5:30 - 7pm in Lenox Hall to help with this project. Bring a pair of scissors and a plastic bag if you want to take some home to continue making more. You can come to work - stay as long as you want or just come to pick some up to take home to work on. We will need to have the crosses back to church before noon on Saturday, April 19.

Please RSVP to Dixie at dpscoville@aol.com.

Thank you so much for your help with this project! God Bless all of you. Hugs, Dixie

A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Family and Friends,

April is here and we are in mid Lent and the weather is hot already. But we are here, amidst trials and challenges for some of us knowing that we have a Lord and Savior who loves us. In reading further in my devotional book for Easter, and Pastor Casey's daily devotions, I feel grateful, knowing that in spite of everything that I've been going through, I am never alone. Lilies have been ordered for our Easter worship services and it always reminds me of the beauty of the flowers which actually grew in the mud. No wonder they represent the beauty of Easter just like Christ left the beauty of heaven to live among the untouchable, to serve the sinners. He didn't look away from those who would betray Him, and He healed the hurting. We know the road to the cross was long and not an easy journey . Like the Lily is more beautiful because of the mud it grew in, He is all the more beautiful because of what He endured for us. Most of you know I've been going through several recent challenges, and it has given me plenty of down time to read, pray, and think more about the significance of this season.

I will definitely be honest, part of me gets frustrated with the lengthy stretch of this pneumonia and this illness has been difficult. But in the quiet, lonely nights with lack of sleep ( thanks to the third round of big doses of steroids) I have found those times open to communication and prayer with my heavenly Father. That has been a beautiful blessing. Of course I am praying to be completely healed because I so want to get back to serving. A big thank-you to all who are praying not only for me but for all who are struggling. That is truly God at work in our church family. I continue to be blessed by meals, notes of encouragement, phone calls and offers of rides. Please pray to find areas of service that you'd like to be involved in.  We need many volunteers in many different areas.

Have a blessed week and know that I am praying for you!
