They're here! You can pick up the name tags you ordered beginning this Sunday at the worship service you attend. They are separated by service, and in alphabetical order. If you have not ordered your name tag yet, you can still order one HERE.

Our zoo trip was a success! There were about 50 of us in attendance. “Kids” of all ages joined us for our adventure, with our youngest being 14th months and our oldest being in his 70s. I told you, kids of ALL ages!
We met at Naples Zoo at 9:00 am “before it got hot.” I guess that is a relative term. It was already quite warm outside upon our arrival. Our first stop was the “Primate Boat Tour.” There were so many of us, that we had to split up on two boats! It was a lovely trip around the small pond at the zoo. We learned about the difference between apes, monkeys, and lemurs. We saw apes showing off how loud they could be, lemurs chasing each other, sleeping monkeys and another, very territorial ape.
After the boat tour, we all dispersed to travel around the zoo. Everyone wanted to see different animals. As we traveled, we saw lions and tigers and bears, oh my! There were also alligators, tortoises, birds, and a sloth! Some of us also took the opportunity to feed the giraffe…long, blue tongues that feel like sandpaper on the skin…
At 11:30 am, we met at Roar Cafe for lunch as a complete group. If you feed them, they will come. By the time we all made it to Roar Cafe, everyone was hot and hungry. We ate our hot dogs and fellowshipped for quite a while. I had the opportunity to stop and speak with every family that joined us. It was great to meet some new families and get to know church families better. I had the opportunities to hear about family needs and how the church and family ministry can come alongside them.
After lunch, most of our zoo crew headed home. A few of us stayed a little longer, leaving just as the rain started in Naples. The feedback I have received has been phenomenal. Everyone had a really nice time with their families at the zoo. It was just very HOT! (Note to self: Florida summer is not like Massachusetts summer, zoo to be reserved for winter activity….indoor activities in summer).

Greetings New Life friends and family --
Happy August! Of course I can't even believe that's possible. Someone said to me "Rosie, we need to start planning for Christmas"!! What??? While that is a fact, it really doesn't seem possible especially when it feels like 110 degrees every day!
Good news! The new name tags are ready and will be available for you to pick up at each worship service this Sunday. August 7th. The 8 o'clock service will be available at a table under the pavilion. If rain causes the service to move to the sanctuary, they will be on the counter in the anteroom. Greeters will be available to assist you. Tables will be set up in the main entrance of the Life Center for both the 9:15 and 11 o'clock services. Prayers of thanks for everyone who has been involved with this huge project. And special thanks to everyone for your cooperation and patience.
Please watch for information in upcoming announcements and The Bridge regarding opportunities to serve. We will be looking for several folks at each service to be part of our Welcome Team. Please examine your heart and pray about service within your church family. It's an easy way to get big blessings and get acquainted. Stay tuned for specifics!
I am hoping to share your "Godwink" stories in upcoming articles. I know many of you have wonderful experiences as a result of prayer. So let me know if you're willing to share. We don't have to use names- just share things that happen when we pray.
One of my favorite Scriptures is Philippians 4:6 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything." Simple instructions with amazing results. Don't worry... pray. God doesn't just tell us not to worry... He tells us to do something.... pray. My life changed when I began going to God with every big or little life situation. I was the queen of worry but now I trust Him with every outcome- big or little. God is always there to show me the way, so in any situation I can relax and accept His blessings. I believe the key is to give ,be thankful, be joyful in our journey to be more Christlike. On the days when ,"never give up " sounds like "move a mountain, " we are reminded that God's love is stronger than any doubts we might have. My prayer today is: Father I know worries are wasted opportunities to trust You. Today I want all my cares to turn into prayers.
I'm praying for you!

Beginning Sunday, August 14th at 10:30 a.m. in Lenox Hall, The Harmony Class will begin a five-week study of “The Shortest Way Home: C.S. Lewis & Mere Christianity”. Doubt and disbelief live in the hearts of many people as they wrestle with the questions of good and evil and the existence of God. Those who embrace Christianity as a way of life must then learn how to live out their faith as a transformed individual in an imperfect and difficult world. But how is this accomplished? Please join us to find out! Class materials will be provided for all participants. All are welcome to attend!

Extraordinary Women - Begins August 18
|
|
Extraordinary Women is a Zoom Women’s Bible Study Group which meets every Thursday from 9:00-11:00 am. Brenda Allen is the group facilitator. EW Zoom is for all
women who enjoy learning about the Bible and how it applies to their life.
If you find it difficult or impossible to come to the church for a small group meeting, please consider joining us on Zoom. We have members who are out of town for the summer and want to stay connected to a small group. If you are the caregiver for someone who can’t be left alone our group may be the perfect way for you to participate in a small group. Do you like to stay at home and dress casually (that means shorts and no makeup)? EW Zoom is the group for you.
We are a very welcoming group, so please come and visit us. We are currently using the
Journey Through the Bible series and are presently studying Acts. We will start our study
of Romans on August 18. If you would like a book please contact Jan Armbrust at 941-
268-5967 or Sharon Voss at 941-639-1506. Contact Brenda Allen for the Zoom link at
941-286-2244.
