Hope Chapel, Fire Relief Update
We were blessed as a church to provide Hope Chapel in Kihei Maui $1,456.00 of assistance after the fire in Maui. Here is an excerpt from an update we received last week from the Pastor:
"As I reflect upon this past year there are many moments filled with both joy, and with tears - and with all that we have experienced and in every circumstance, God has been near to us.
By God's grace and through your generosity, we are so happy to report that not only did we meet our December target to finish on budget, we received an additional $202,441 that will allow us to begin 2024 strong and prepared to continue to share the good news of Jesus in increasing measure.
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel. Your faithfulness in prayer, serving and giving is so important to the health and growth of the body of Christ here at Hope!
Better Together, Ben Pragnell"

Scam Texts and Emails
It has come to our attention that recently some scam texts have been received "appearing" to come from New Life Church, asking for gift cards from the recipient.
Please note:
- No one on staff will EVER send out this type of request by text or email.
- NEVER respond to this type of thing...EVER.

Harmony Class, Lenten Study
The Harmony Class will begin a special Lenten Study, “He Chose the Nails: What God Did to Win Your Heart” by Max Lucado, on Sunday, February 18th. Every gift from God reveals His love, but no gift reveals his love more than the gifts of the cross. As we examine the gifts that Christ gave at his crucifixion and unwrap them, we will hear Him whisper, “I did it just for you.”
The Harmony Class meets Sundays at 9:15 am in Lenox Hall and all are welcome to attend!

"As an expression of God's love in Southwest Florida, we are growing to ensure that no one experiencing hunger, homelessness or addiction is alone or without a pathway on their journey from crisis to contributor. Together with our partners and participants, we cultivate communities where people are progressively seen, accepted, challenged, and supported."

Operation Christmas Child, February & March Donations
Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Mission Team requests donations in February & March of “Wow” items. A ‘quality’ shoebox for each child is important. A “Wow” item, such as a medium sized doll, stuffed animal, soccer ball with pump, clothing outfit, solar flashlight, large toy car, or a small musical instrument is important to capture the child’s attention the instant the shoebox is opened! (I’ve had great success finding stuffed animal dog toys. Not only are they less expensive than children’s stuffed animals, but they are also well-made and very durable.) Please leave your donations in the Operation Christmas Child Donation box in Lenox Hall! Thank you for your help in making this a fantastic year to spread the Good News of Jesus to children around the globe!

Feed the Harbor, February 25
The fourteenth annual “FEED THE HARBOR” food drive is on February 25th from 9-3 pm. Its purpose is to help the less fortunate in our community. The food donations help fill the shelves of 25-30 local food pantries. Thankful pantries receive their boxed food at 3pm.
The event is ecumenical, organized by a committee representing five churches which provide our volunteers. They will be collecting food donations at all Publix stores in Charlotte County.
Please come to the Airport Road Publix on Sunday, February 25 to shop OR drop off food. There will be volunteers at the store to collect your items to sort and organize for the specific panties to pick up at the end of the day.

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family and friends,
Amazing as it seems to me, we are in this holy season of Lent. For some reason, in recent years, as my physical challenges get worse, I can appreciate on a much deeper level what Christ went through for me and you. I don't want that to sound dramatic, but with great humility and on an extremely different level it has somehow impacted my life. I know what it is to suffer, and I can only imagine the impossibly horrific physical and emotional pain that he endured to save us. When we moved here in 2004, one of my goals was to find a physician and hair salon I would like and a church that would show me how to develop a deeper relationship with God. We had attended church up north hit or miss - much more miss than anything. Some of you know the story of how we found this church when we had been shopping and while I waited out front while Don was checking out, I was approached by a lady who asked how long we'd lived here. In the course of our conversation. I told her of my wish list for a church and she smiled and sweetly said, "Why don't you try my church?" and directed me here. The next Sunday, we came here to worship and knew we were home. We never saw that sweet angel again even after asking around, but we were definitely blessed. To have a church family and leaders who you can go to for help when you need comfort or can answer your questions to guide you in your faith walk is indeed a beautiful blessing. When you are a believer in Jesus Christ we have the great honor of a permanent invitation to help you through any situation or challenge you may face and He will never reject or abandon you. I have discovered that we have a unique opportunity to share in intimate conversation with Him through the gift of prayer. Of course in the beginning I had some doubts about this! How the God who controls the entire universe, would have time to have a conversation with me, Jeremiah 33:3 tells us, "Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know."
Our part is to develop a strong prayer practice. I used to think that maybe God doesn't really hear my requests but He wants us to have total confidence in Him. I read somewhere that God never intended for us to approach Him with a "hope so" attitude.
He wants us to know for certain that our loving and powerful heavenly Father is always available to listen to our cries and to respond to our prayers. I have learned that when facing painful trials His loving comfort and guidance have helped me be stronger and triumphant rather than feeling weary and defeated. You can experience God as deeply and intimately as I have. He wants us all to use this gift of prayer every day of your life and He paid the price so we all can have it. Through His death on the cross and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Because of this we have an open invitation to the gift of prayer. This is why we try to encourage prayer vigils during this season of Lent! We will once more have a 24/7 Prayer opportunity during Holy Week. Please watch the Bridge for sign-up information. I can't encourage you enough to sign up for at least one hour of prayer time and hopefully more! We have reading material available in the prayer room in case you're worried that an hour is too long. You'll be surprised how fast the time goes. Take advantage of reading the notes on the Wailing Wall and then write a note yourself and post it. I can testify that you will be blessed by this experience. The other challenge to reach our goal of a powerful church of prayer is to set your phone alarm for noon pause where you're at and say The Lord's Prayer. The power of prayer if all our members were praying this during Lent would be a blessing. It takes less than a minute and we can see beautiful results!
Remember: I'm praying for you!
