Tuesday Night Small Group Descriptions:
Digging Deeper
Facilitated by Pastor Angela
Let's dive into Scripture together as we read through and discuss the book of Ephesians for the next six weeks, I hope to see you there!

Biblical Citizenship
Facilitated by Wayne Sharp
This class will explore Biblical principles as they relate to our constitution. Being “salt & light” requires knowledge of the culture we are attempting to preserve as we fulfill the Great Commission to “make disciples.” This course includes a captivating overview of the constitution, filmed in Independence Hall where it was actually framed. The principles presented will help you be the catalyst for restoring Biblical values in your neighborhood, State, and Nation. Learn more HERE.
Christian Apologetics
Facilitated by Leo Modica
As Christians, we are called to always be prepared to give an "answer" for what we believe and a "reason" why. (1 Peter 3:15 NIV) In this class, we equip believers to overcome personal doubt in God and build confidence in defending the truth claims of the Christian faith. We explore the fundamental topics in Christian apologetics including the existence and creation of God, the reliability of the Bible, the divinity and resurrection of Jesus, and more.
FreedUp, Financial Class
Facilitated by Walt Howell
We are offering a new small group called FreedUp. It uses an app that you download to your phone and includes a workbook. No matter what your current financial situation is, this class will help you get FreedUp in 2024. There is a $19 charge for the app and workbook.
Note: Identical sessions of this group will be offered on Thursdays and Fridays.

Look how your Birthday Box donations help with higher education!
Trey Richards is a past recipient of five higher education scholarships awarded over a five-year period. Trey graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in the spring of 2022, with a Civil Engineering degree. Here is an update from Trey on his career path since graduating.
"I graduated from FGCU in 2022 with a degree in Civil Engineering and was hired as a Project Engineer at Ajax Paving Industries of Florida. I have had the opportunity to contribute to several projects, with the Overlay Project for Babcock Ranch and the permanent repairs following Hurricane Ian's destruction of Matlacha and Sanibel standing out the most. My responsibilities include scheduling, billing, and overall project management to ensure
profitability and timely completion to meet deadlines. Construction has always fascinated me, so being able to work in a field I love while also contributing to the rebuilding efforts after a devastating storm for the residents in these areas has been a rewarding experience."
Thank you to our many church members who have donated to the Birthday Box throughout the years. Know that you are giving to the higher education of student recipients who graduate and go on to marvelous career opportunities!

Feed the Harbor, February 25
The fourteenth annual “FEED THE HARBOR” food drive is on February 25th from 9-3 pm. Its purpose is to help the less fortunate in our community. The food donations help fill the shelves of 25-30 local food pantries. Thankful pantries receive their boxed food at 3pm.
The event is ecumenical, organized by a committee representing five churches which provide our volunteers. They will be collecting food donations at all Publix stores in Charlotte County.
Please come to the Airport Road Publix on Sunday, February 25 to shop OR drop off food. There will be volunteers at the store to collect your items to sort and organize for the specific panties to pick up at the end of the day.

Operation Christmas Child, February & March Donations
Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Mission Team requests donations in February & March of “Wow” items. A ‘quality’ shoebox for each child is important. A “Wow” item, such as a medium sized doll, stuffed animal, soccer ball with pump, clothing outfit, solar flashlight, large toy car, or a small musical instrument is important to capture the child’s attention the instant the shoebox is opened! (I’ve had great success finding stuffed animal dog toys. Not only are they less expensive than children’s stuffed animals, but they are also well-made and very durable.) Please leave your donations in the Operation Christmas Child Donation box in Lenox Hall! Thank you for your help in making this a fantastic year to spread the Good News of Jesus to children around the globe!

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family and friends -
January always seems to go by so quickly, and it makes me pause and think how my life has also moved through time so rapidly. Here I am a little old lady who feels the same as always but now celebrate the beautiful lives of great grandchildren! Here we are in February, the month of love. How perfect! I pray daily that God will give me another day to pray for and/or with someone, and in spite of increasing physical challenges I'm able to hold those babies, or greet you, my church family after worship each Sunday. I am blessed. My heart is touched when you worry about me when you don't see me on occasion. I have to say again that I've been asked why I keep "pushing myself " when I could be resting. My answer is the same: prayer gives me purpose and grows my faith. God never promised me that I would never have problems but His gift gives me hope and energy to give back to others. When we grow stronger in our faith walk its a joy to share with others. You'd be surprised where and when opportunities show up to talk with someone about God's love. I have seen amazing things happen with intentional prayer. We are filled with hope even when we might be waiting for something big to happen. Isn't it great that we don't need to make things happen on our own? When we are tempted to give up, we need to pray even harder, or ask someone to pray with you. Even in the worst of times, we can find joy because we are loved by our Creator and He will be there to support us. Roman's 12:12 says: "Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying." He is worthy of all our praise and glory especially when we're praying and worshiping through a really difficult time. Here are a few suggestions:
*Praise God for the ways He strengthens us.
* Pray that while you're suffering, He will renew your hope and peace in Christ.
* Ask Him to use your life for His glory.
* Pray for a deeper relationship with Jesus that gives you hope to persevere.
Here are some easy ways to help someone get stated; set aside a special time each day to spend time with God; read a devotional, then pray about it. Think about joining a prayer team - we are blessed when we pray for others. Take a moment every day at noon and say The Lord's Prayer. If you haven't yet visited our Prayer room, sign up to spend time in prayer in there. If you'd like more info on any of these suggestions please feel free to contact me. I know that there is power in prayer and I want to share with everyone.
I'm praying for you!
