Do you have a birthday month approaching? The Scholarship Committee would like for our Bridge readers to remember the “Birthday Box” donation program with an opportunity to contribute to the higher education scholarship fund for our future recipients. During the month of your birthday, consider donating one dollar for every year old that you are. For example, if you are 50 years old, you would donate $50. If you desire to financially support this program, you can drop off your donation to the Birthday Box located in the Life Center foyer on the information table. May you have a happy birthday by donating a blessing to a future recipient!

During the post Hurricane Ian weeks, like many spaces on the church property, our church library was occupied by the inspiring members of the Samaritan's Purse volunteers. We found a pile of books to shelve after they vacated our property and were so happy with the thought that after long days of service to our community, a mystery reader(s) found entertainment and/ or solace in our collection!
WE ARE NOW OPEN to church visitors, members, and staff! Please stop in and pick up a book or two. Please see the new catalog folder that contains a paper list of our books collection. This catalog is a work in progress. Our volunteers are back on some Tuesdays mornings working to complete this ongoing project.
We noticed our "Heaven " topic shelf is a little light and is missing the Randy Alcorn "Heaven" book. If you own a lightly used copy, please consider donating this book to the library.
If you are new to our church, you can find our church library in the Life Center building ! If you need assistance regarding the library, please email shelbydecapite@yahoo.com.

Greetings New Life Church family --
I feel like a word of thanks is important this week. I am filled with gratitude for the overwhelming number of people who have been praying, not only for me but everyone who has been on our prayer list. So remember, if you are struggling with a problem, or know someone who could use prayer help, please let someone know. Pastor Bob will certainly let his prayer team help, as would I with our Thursday team. Be assured that any and all info is confidential. I never dreamed that God would lead me on this prayer journey as He has. I would have been an anxiety-filled wreck if I would have tried to navigate these life experiences on my own. I tried it for a short while, only increasing my fear and anxiety which only made me feel worse. I even tried some "self-help" books with no real help- until I was facing my first of three 12-hour spine reconstruction surgeries, and a wonderful Pastor gave me the only real "book" that helped, and told me how to pray. I realized through scripture and prayer, that I don't need to be afraid of facing difficult or traumatic situations. You may think that God never speaks to you but if you learn to be still before Him in prayer- in your heart, mind, and spirit- He shows us that prayer is a step of faith. I have learned that when new problems arise, I don't have to battle them alone. Actually, the first thing I do is praise the Lord. (Ps.71:5, 14) "For You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my confidence from my youth... But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more." Now, I'll admit that I didn't learn this overnight, but the journey has been a gift. I don't think God created us to carry huge burdens alone. In Proverbs 3:5-6 He tells us, " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." One thing that helps me is sharing prayer experiences with others. If you're free on Thursdays at noon, stop by the sanctuary to pray and share with our team of prayer warriors. If you cannot attend, please take a few moments to pray right where you're at. We have folks who take a moment each day at noon to silently pray the Lord's Prayer. As we prepare to enter into Lent(yes already) we will begin this prayer moment daily.
We had a great prayer walk last Thursday around our campus to offer prayer for all the activities that happen daily in each building and classroom.
Let's keep praying for each other-- I'm praying for you!
Rosie Young
Worship Coordinator
