Look how your Birthday Box donations help
with higher education!
Randy Buck is a past recipient of four higher education scholarships awarded over a four-year period. Randy graduated from the University of South Florida in the spring of 2023, with a Biomedical Engineering degree. Here is an update from Randy on his career path since graduating.
“My official role is the mechanical engineer for Bexorg, Inc. I design, fabricate, and assemble parts of brain perfusion devices for complex and active brain studies. I also make quality of life improvements to current processes related to the setup or analysis of the device and its output data. On a larger scale, I work with a highly motivated team of biologists, surgeons, biochemists, data scientists, software engineers, etc. to help better understand the human brain with the goal of ending brain disease.”

Thank you to our many church members who have donated to the Birthday
Box throughout the years. Know that you are giving to the higher education
of student recipients who graduate and go on to marvelous career

Tuesday Night Small Group Descriptions:
Financial Class
Facilitated by Dick Brewer
We are offering a new small group called FreedUp. It uses an app that you download to your phone and includes a workbook. No matter what your current financial situation is, this class will help you get FreedUp in 2024. There is a $19 charge for the app and workbook.
Note: An identical session of this class will be offered on Friday mornings, facilitated by Cathy Smith - details coming soon!)
Digging Deeper
Facilitated by Pastor Angela
Let's dive into Scripture together as we read through and discuss the book of Ephesians for the next six weeks, I hope to see you there!
Biblical Citizenship
Facilitated by Wayne Sharp
This class will explore Biblical principles as they relate to our constitution. Being “salt & light” requires knowledge of the culture we are attempting to preserve as we fulfill the Great Commission to “make disciples.” This course includes a captivating overview of the constitution, filmed in Independence Hall where it was actually framed. The principles presented will help you be the catalyst for restoring Biblical values in your neighborhood, State, and Nation.
Christian Apologetics
Facilitated by Leo Modica
As Christians, we are called to always be prepared to give an "answer" for what we believe and a "reason" why. (1 Peter 3:15 NIV) In this class, we equip believers to overcome personal doubt in God and build confidence in defending the truth claims of the Christian faith. We explore the fundamental topics in Christian apologetics including the existence and creation of God, the reliability of the Bible, the divinity and resurrection of Jesus, and more.

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family and friends -
This is one of those weeks I guess. I've been sitting here, praying, reading devotionals, and various articles, and then more prayer and - I have nothing to write about. I then realized that was my problem; I was trying to figure it out rather than giving it to God. I prayed some more and opened an article from awhile ago titled Prayer For Listening to God. I know that He is good and faithful and not far off but as near as reaching out my right hand. I believe God speaks to us when we are in need but it's up to us to listen. How do I listen? When I sit for a lengthy time trying to come up with a topic and nothing happens I know my mind is cluttered with numerous scattered thoughts I know I'm not listening. Then I silence my heart and in quiet prayer I am led to a scripture or article or that quiet still voice with a word that puts me in the right direction to share. I understand the difference when I do listen because you make a comment that something I wrote touched your heart. Those comments are all thanks to God. I am grateful for those experiences because it encourages me to keep trying. God has encouraged me to do some amazing things. In spite of my physical condition worsening, He has led me to do more work for His kingdom. Writing this weekly article, starting and coordinating a weekly prayer group or recording devotionals and prayers on the radio are things I would never have done on my own. Our God is an awesome God. I am grateful that He pushes me because He has allowed me to turn my pain into a purpose. I want everyone to experience the joy to worship God and praise Him when you come to Him.in prayer. Whatever we might be suffering in our lives, we can thank our Father that He Sent His son who suffered on our behalf. We are never alone and for that we should give thanks. We worship God and praise Him when we come to Him in prayer. Let's all praise God together at noon daily by stopping whatever we're doing and say the prayer He taught us: The Lord's Prayer.
You are invited to join our Prayer warriors by signing up to receive prayer requests when people are in need. I am blessed by your prayers.
I am praying for you!
