A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family and friends,
It is now a very hot and very wet summer season. My front yard is a lake but considering what so many other places are suffering, we are blessed. When I consider that every day is a beautiful gift from God, not being able to walk through it to go across the street to my mailbox is a small thing. I've been reminded recently that even though life has been more challenging than usual, I continue to be blessed in so many ways. I had an incident this past week that reminded me why I need prayer in my life. I was talking with someone close to me who I love very much. And as usual they were complaining about everything, and I found myself complaining about the conversation with someone else. Wow! That was a wake-up call for me. Needless to say, I am grateful we have a loving God who is willing to comfort and strengthen us, giving us mercy and grace in our times of need. Hebrews 4:16 describes this privilege with these words: "Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." This is the wonderful honor we have through our gift of prayer. How awesome it is to know that the Creator of heaven and earth is available to help us when we need it. I've certainly had to face more painful situations than this, but as Jeremiah 33:3 promises - "Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know." He's been described as a constant Helper, a faithful Friend, a wise Leader, and great Redeemer to us. We can experience this by using the gift of prayer every day of our life. If you're just getting started in your prayer life, or want to grow deeper, consider joining a prayer group or getting a prayer
partner when you need help or could help others. Don't forget to pray about ways you can serve at New Life Church. There are many volunteer opportunities that can use help.
I'm praying for you!
