Greetings New Life Church family --
Hope everyone is staying cool. It's always hot in Florida during July and August, but this seems excessive, if that's possible. All kidding aside, please be careful and stay hydrated if you're doing things outside. Okay -- that's the nurse in me -- sorry!
Please remember to wear name tags to help Pastor Angela to learn our names. Be sure you have signed up for a new name tag - instructions are on the website, or you can sign up at the main entrance of the Life Center before the services on Sunday. Paper name tags are available at each door for your use also.
I've been looking back over a few of my books on prayer lately-- maybe as a way to remind myself why and how I became so passionate that I stepped out of my comfort zone and found myself talking to others about it's importance. I began reading books on prayer with many testimonies about miracles. Since I was in need of a couple miracles myself, it felt like a life involving prayer was the direction I should go. There are many scriptures on prayer. Roman's 8:26 "The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes.... with the will of God." A concordance of the Bible explains that even when you don't know the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with, and for you, and God answers. I read once that the Holy Spirit acts as our inner compass to keep us pointed in the right direction like God's Positioning System (GPS!). Why should we pray? Consider:
* You want direction in your life.
* You want a great marriage.
* You want a loving relationship in your family.
* You have a long awaited desire for something.
* You have ongoing physical or emotional pain.
1 Thesssalonians 5:16 "Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Please join us on Thursdays at noon in the sanctuary for an hour of prayer. I'm praying for you!

Join us this Sunday at 8 am for Praise in the Park! Open to everyone, this is your opportunity to join us for "in-person" worship as we enjoy God's scenery from the lawn of the beautiful Gilchrist Park Pavilion, weather permitting of course. If it is or has been raining, Praise in the Park will relocate to our historic Sanctuary. Time may not always be sufficient to get the word out, so in case of inclement weather, please proceed to the Sanctuary.
Please plan to bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets, and, yes, we will be asking you to practice social distancing. Don't forget to join our "Praise in the Park" group on our Church App! As a reminder, our outside services are always subject to change due to the weather. Please make sure you are connected with us through the app, our email list, or social media to receive our updates concerning schedule changes. See you Sunday for Praise in the Park!
