Cancer Support Group, April 3

The Cancer Support Group will be holding our regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30 pm in Lenox Hall. Pastor Angela Hinchman will be joining us. Come hear her words of love and encouragement. The Cancer Support Group is open to all patients, survivors, and care givers. We are open to the community, if you have friends on a Cancer Journey, please invite them to come. Our goal is to bring “Hope for Your Journey: Coping with Cancer Through Faith.”

Fifth Sunday Offering

We will receive a special offering for the Florida Children's Home on Sunday, March 31.

The Children's Home provides a family environment for children in the foster system, as well as those in dire family situations. Offering a place with house parents, counseling and educational support, the Children's Home allows children to feel some sort of normal in their day to day life. Envelopes will be available by the entrances to the Life Center and Sanctuary.

Grace Awakening

Myrt Creigh

If you’ve been one of those who has asked, “What exactly is God’s Grace?”

We know that it’s unconditional love but is there more? If so, what? Well, I’m here to share with you that Charles Swindoll has answered the question with clarity and warmth. I recommend Swindoll’s book, Grace Awakening. No heavy theological mumbo jumbo but straight forward American English. I think if you’re searching to become more like Christ, you may find yourself a step closer after you read this book.

You can sign up for a Blood Drive donation time HERE.

Our 24/7 Prayer Vigil begins this weekend. Please consider joining us in prayer! To sign up for a time to pray March 24-31, scan the QR or schedule your time HERE.

Palm Crosses

Many hands are needed in order to make 2,000+ crosses from the palms. Please come on Wednesday, March 27, 5:30 - 7pm to Lenox Hall to help with this project. Bring a pair of scissors and a plastic bag if you want to take some home to continue making more. You can come to work - stay as long as you want or just come to pick some up to take home to work on. We will need to have the crosses back to church before noon on Saturday, March 30.

Please respond to Dixie at dpscoville@aol.com.

Thank you so much for your help with this project! God Bless all of you. Hugs, Dixie

Inviting all Kids!

Good Friday Escape Room

Kids ages 5-12 are invited to join us on Good Friday from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm for an Escape Room where they will be on a mission to prove the innocence of Jesus! This event will take place during the Good Friday Service at noon, so parents are able to attend service and know their children are in a safe place. There will also be childcare for children 4 and under.

Lunch will be served for all children (and we want to be sure we have enough food for everyone), so whether child care is needed during service, or your children will be joining us for the Escape Room, please email Becca at becca@newlifeforall.church.

Greetings from the Music Ministry

Hello New Life Church!

I am looking forward to spending Palm Sunday with you and raising our voices in singing Hosanna to the King of Kings. Hosanna is a plea for Jesus to save us, for Him to be our Messiah.  We sing this to commemorate when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey to show that He was the Messiah and that He was fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies about himself. The people paved the way and waved palm branches for Him while singing Hosanna.  It is hard to believe that when Jesus entered Jerusalem people were shouting “Hosanna in the highest” and just days later they were shouting “crucify Him”.  It really makes me think about how often we come to praise God on Sunday but barely into our week we stop praising and in some cases it is hard to see that we are Christ followers at all.  My prayer is that our Hosannas are part of our very being; that we continually praise our Lord Jesus Christ through our words, our thoughts and our actions. May we not lose sight of our need for Him to save us!

Prelude: Hosanna with / All Glory Laud and Honor

(Michael W. Smith, arr. Michael Barrett)

Postlude: The Palms (Jean Baptiste Faure, arr. Guy C Filkins)

Here are the words to our choral Anthem this Sunday.

Anthem:  “In the Name of the Lord”

(Gloria Gaither, Phil McHugh & Sandi Patty / arr. Mary McDonald)

Crowds have lined the narrow street

To see this man from Galilee

Just a carpenter some say, leading fools astray

Yet many kneel to give Him praise

And in His eyes they glimpse the power

That sees the hearts of all men

And He knows the Father’s mind, He speaks the Fathers’ words

For He comes in the Name of the Lord

REFRAIN:

There is strength in the name of the Lord

There is Power in the name of the Lord

There is Hope in the name of the Lord

Blessed is He who comes, in the name of the Lord

When my plans have fallen through

And when my strength is nearly gone

When there’s nothing left to do, but just depend on you

And the power of Your Name

And when we call upon your name

Your strength through weakness to show

We can know the Master’s plan, extend the Master’s hand

For He comes in the name of the Lord

REFRAIN

There is Strength in the name of the Lord

There is Power in the name of the Lord

There is Hope in the name of the Lord

Blessed is He who comes, in the name of the Lord

His name will be worshiped forever

Creator, Redeemer and King

REFRAIN

There is strength in the name of the Lord

There is Power in the name of the Lord

There is Hope in the name of the Lord

Blessed is He who comes, in the name of the Lord

A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Church family and friends,

Happy Spring everyone!  It's hard to believe that on Ash Wednesday we, along with millions of Christians, began the 40-day journey during Lent. We have been blessed by our weekly Lenten services led by different pastors each week. I am grateful for each message that has helped guide us through this season, which to me is a time to spend extra quiet time with God. Maybe you've experienced the Lord's guidance to have a conversation which you put off for some time. Or perhaps you gave up something you love, remembering Christ's 40 day fast. Whatever path you've been on, ask God to steer you during this last week of preparation for Easter Sunday. I'm asking you to pray and examine your heart if serving is something you can help with. I am in need of help on Holy Thursday at 7pm worship, as well as any and all of the Easter Sunday services. If you can help at whichever service you plan to attend please email me and I will give you instructions - and you will be blessed. If you haven't had time to sign up for the Prayer Room 24/7 vigil please do so. One hour of the week can result in amazing blessings. If you have a story that you can share about prayer in your life, please let me know so we hopefully can share it in the Bridge. You can touch someone's heart by sharing your experience. Invite a friend or neighbor to Easter Sunday worship with you. I'd like to share part of a Palm Sunday prayer with you:

Dear Jesus,

Today we wave palm branches in your honor. We sing "Hosanna in the highest!" Today we watch you ride into town on a borrowed donkey with your head held high. It's the only time in all of Scripture where you allowed yourself to be exalted. But even then, it was never about the crowd's approval of You. You had your face set like flint on the cross.

The cross.

When you came into Jerusalem, the whole city asked, "who is this?"

Today we answer with all our heart:

* You are my Savior, that's who.

* You are my Lord, that's who.

* You are my friend and Redeemer and the reason my life has meaning.

* You are my purpose and my passion and my pathway to peace.

* You are the one true King.

I want to love You at all costs -

not to be counted among those who denied You, betrayed You, or hid when the stakes were high.

May You always see my branch waving high for You. May You always hear my voice exalting You above everything else in my life: " Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" In Your precious name.  Amen

I am praying for a meaningful Holy Week for all!
