Our most important ministry outside our campus is to the youth of Charlotte County. A partner in that ministry is Young Life at the high schools and Wyld Life in the middle schools. We have to go where the teens are because they are not yet at church. Each year the teens hold
a GALA to celebrate those who have come to Christ that year and to let the teens see that we support them. At church services on Sunday, March 26, we will hear from Jennifer Candia who started out at Charlotte High School and now runs Young Life in Charlotte County. Cody Workman who replaced Jennifer at Charlotte High and PG Middle School will tell of his ministry there. You are invited to celebrate Young Life at the GALA on Monday, April 3, at 6pm at Holy Trinity Banquet Hall on Rampart in Port Charlotte. There is no charge for this banquet and the great entertainment which it includes. To fill up our tables and to sign up contact Peter Gillen 941-661-8367 or Tom Little 941-769-0002.

Greetings New Life Church family -
Happy Spring! Although the days leading up to Christmas bring up reminders of rejoicing through traditional carols that are sung, this year I've been reading a daily devotional about the "40 days of Easter." While it reminded me of Jesus' journey to his crucifixion and ultimate resurrection, it pointed out current day traditions and Easter stories shared from history, and family traditions and scripture that help make it more personal. When I think about Easter and what it means to me, I recall a Palm Sunday many years ago when I was facing my first of three 12 hour surgeries in an attempt to reconstruct my spine. While this in no way is what Jesus knew he was going through, we've all faced a time when we faced situations where there was no turning back. Imagine the intensity of Jesus riding into Jerusalem that first Palm Sunday. I have tried to pray a lot about how that must have been knowing he was heading to that cross. Luke 9:51 tells us "As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem". While my courage during challenging or frightening times has not been an easy thing, God has shown me that I only need to call out to Him in prayer and my cries are always heard. It is a blessing to believe and trust Him in every situation.
Please be sure to mark your calendars for our Holy Thursday worship service at 7 pm on April 6th in the sanctuary and Good Friday at 12 pm in the sanctuary. Let me know if you're able to help out with those services.
Also, please email or text me if you are available to volunteer at one or more of the Easter Sunday services:
* 6:30 - 8:00 - 10:45 at Laishley Park
* 9:15 in the Life Center
Watch The Bridge for upcoming event information.
I'm praying for you!
