Operation Christmas Child
Debbie Harrington, Project Team Leader
The Operation Christmas Child Team of New Life Church asks for monetary donations during the months of April and May to help defray the costs involved in this mission field. We have never asked the Finance Committee for any funding to support this program since it began in 2002 thanks to your generous donations. God is Good and so are YOU! We must pay for a driver and moving truck to take all the shoeboxes to Fort Myers at the end of Collection Week in November, which costs around $600. The packing party shoeboxes recommended donation of $10 each to defray shipping costs adds and additional $1,000 for the 100 we pack that evening, so you can clearly understand we need your help. Please make your check out to New Life Church and write “Operation Christmas Child” (or “OCC”) on the memo line of your check and simply drop it into the Offering Boxes in the Life Center or Sanctuary. Thank you so much for your help with our 2025 OCC ministry program to bring the Good News to children around the world.

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Family and Friends,
Here it is Wednesday already! I don't know how the days pass so quickly when a person is sick and has only enough energy to lay around. I truly try not to complain but to share what's happening with me and to ask for prayer. This past month has been not only a challenge but a humbling experience. Here is the update: I saw the pulmonologist's PA today and still have symptoms of pneumonia in one lung. While things had improved he felt I need another round of heavy steroids. The one benefit of steroids is: I've gained a few pounds! I never thought I'd be happy to gain weight!
I continue to pray for total healing and recovery from this very lengthy and exhausting illness. I want simply to be able to get on with dealing with the loss of my love Don, and adjust how to navigate this new time in my life. I love being able to serve the Lord, however I'm able so am very anxious to get back to it.
I have been blessed by Pastor Casey's messages and his "walk to the cross." I have been reading more and praying about that journey, since I've had time! I have a book of Devotions for Easter and appropriately I opened it to a page that stated, "What is your go to response when life is overwhelming?" Well that was me these past few weeks so my first thought was a nap. Something about sleep seems to shut out the world for just a little while. Reading Luke 22:45 "When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow." Can you imagine? Jesus had told them what was coming. But when he returned, he told them to get up and pray. He didn't want them to fall into temptation. I know how weak I feel when I let overwhelming situations neglect my prayer life. With physical problems, it's important to rest and balance activities.
But I've really been trying to praise God through this recent trial for leading me to prayer first and pray for energy to carry on. During long lonely nights, I've been seeking His face in prayer and what a comfort that is. When life gets to be a little too much, and we want to hide, let's get up and pray instead.
I am grateful for your continued prayers, meals, and your never-ending love and support with rides etc.
I am praying for you all!
