A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Church family and friends -

What wonderful Easter services we had 2 weeks ago! Actually I felt that all of Holy Week, though busy with preparation for each event and attempting to remember everything that needed to be done by deadlines, was deeply moving.

A big thank you to everyone who volunteered to help fix communion, set up for each worship service and then cleanup at the end of each service. It takes a team to make things happen successfully, along with prayer.  I was especially happy to have so many greeters on Easter Sunday. Several guests commented how nice it was to be greeted and welcomed to worship by so many people. It was especially great to have greeters outside to be able to welcome guests as they look for which building they need to head for. Things like that do make a difference. It was wonderful also to watch the children outside enjoying their activities. To have every chair filled at the contemporary service was an Easter blessing to be sure.  If you haven't been a greeter before but would like to join our team please let me know.

My Easter blessing was having eight members of my family with me at worship. That was an answer to prayer. Another beautiful blessing was how often many of my church family members mentioned Don to me. It touched my heart and I was filled with love. I missed so much with time away while I was sick with pneumonia. I was so grateful to be back with all of you. It's hard when you're so physically ill that you have no energy ,even to pray. At a time when you need it most, you seem to struggle harder. It's not that I didn't try, but I'd stumble over words and my mind would go blank. You want to be obedient to the Lord but can't think where to begin. I finally realized that if I'd sit quietly and let Him take the reins, while I asked Him to take over- He always knew my heart and the words would come.  Sometimes when I feel as if I haven't conversed with God much at the end of the day, I can always see that God was with me through every struggle. He's with me through my pain and misery so of course He's there when I need words when I'm lacking. I truly thank you all for your prayers through these past difficult months.  Your prayers lift me and anyone you pray for up and give us both energy and peace.

A quick note: I am scheduled for surgery on May 6, so more prayers are needed.

I'd like each of you to join one of or prayer teams. There are several different ways you can be part of this rewarding ministry.  Please ask me for info! Meanwhile, I'm praying for you!
