A Mother's Prayer of Hope, Thank you!

Chris Wilkens

Imagine going to the cupboard to fix supper for your children, and there's not much food. No money until the first of the month. Where to turn.

The Salvation Army is always there. "A Mother's Prayer of Hope" gives everyone hope- food for today and hope for tomorrow! New Life was amazingly generous this year! We filled 3 vehicles with food! The food pantry, Bountiful Blessings, also donated! So generous! And Mike Bohley!! I cannot say enough thank you's to him! He boxed the food for easier stacking. Loaded carts to carry to our cars. Thanked people donating. And he didn't get upset when I blew a tire on the cart! We are blessed to have him! We are blessed as a church! And we are a blessing to others!

Bargain Boutique, Summer Hours

The Bargain Boutique will be transitioning to their summer schedule next week. During the month of June they will be open just on Fridays for shopping and donations 10am - 1pm, and then closed during the months of July and August. The Bargain Boutique will be reopening after Labor Day!

Youth Mission Trip, June 15-21

Have you been praying for our mission team? There are still several keychains with various team members' names on them to be scooped up at three locations on Campus: The Life Center Foyer, Lenox Hall by the coffee makers, and in the sanctuary anteroom. Please pray for them daily through June 21st.

You, our New Life Church family, have generously donated the money for us to purchase just about everything we have on our supply list. Look below to see just how much you have already given! We only need donations for 2 more pillows and 3 more air mattresses - that's it!

Below is an updated list of needed items and their costs. Please consider contributing towards one or more of these:

* $2 Paint Tray Liners (15 needed)

* $6 Paint Trays (5 needed)

* $8 Safety Goggles (3 needed)

* $9 for a pillow (Just 2 of 10 still needed)

* $12 for a blanket (10 more needed)

* $28 5-Gallon Water Cooler (2 needed)

* $46 N-95 Dust Masks (one box of 50 needed)

* $57 Coleman Lunch Cooler with wheels (2 needed)

* $69 donation will purchase a raised twin air mattress with an internal electric plug, making inflation much easier for a shelter (Just 3 of 10 needed).

* $83 Cordless Drill with battery, charger, and supplies (3 needed)

* Ministry Supplies as needed, such as shovels, extension cords, a compound miter saw, jigsaw etc. (approximately $600 needed)

(Please do not purchase the items directly, as we are unable to transport them.) We will be buying the supplies upon our arrival in Pennsylvania. Donations can be made by writing “youth mission trip” in the memo line of your check and placing it in an offering box, by mail, or by bringing it to the church office by June 8th.

Thank you once again for your investment in our teens and for helping them to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Celebrating our High School Graduates!

We are delighted to celebrate five seniors who have completed high school and are now looking forward to college. We want to commend them all for their wonderful achievement!

Charlie Christesen is graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota. This fall, Charlie plans to attend Florida Southwestern State College here in Punta Gorda to study Biology, with the aspiration of becoming a Zoologist.

Leah Matthiessen has graduated from Florida Southwestern Collegiate High School, having also earned her Associate of Arts degree through dual enrollment. Leah will be attending Florida State in Tallahassee, where she will major in Cell and Molecular Neuroscience.

Eisley Kiburz graduated from Charlotte High School and will be starting the Biomedical Engineering program at the University of South Florida in Tampa this August.

Marissa Szeker also graduated from Charlotte High School and will be pursuing her passion for wildlife rehabilitation at Lees-McRea College in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

Zoe Taylor graduated from Judah Christian School in Champaign, IL. Zoe and her family are moving to Florida to reunite with Pastor Casey, and Zoe will begin her college studies in Interior Design right here at Florida Southwestern State College.

We are so proud of each of these students for reaching this significant milestone. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they embark on this exciting next chapter of their lives and education.

Pray for VBS Volunteers

Lord, please bring volunteers to serve at VBS. Fill their hearts with your love and patience to be poured out upon the kids. Give them strength, health, and an overwhelming joy to serve! We pray that our volunteers are given the opportunity to help children experience you and that they would grow closer to you.

Operation Christmas Child

Debbie Harrington, Project Team Leader

The Operation Christmas Child Team of New Life Church asks for monetary donations during the months of April and May to help defray the costs involved in this mission field. We have never asked the Finance Committee for any funding to support this program since it began in 2002 thanks to your generous donations. God is Good and so are YOU! We must pay for a driver and moving truck to take all the shoeboxes to Fort Myers at the end of Collection Week in November, which costs around $600. The packing party shoeboxes recommended donation of $10 each to defray shipping costs adds and additional $1,000 for the 100 we pack that evening, so you can clearly understand we need your help. Please make your check out to New Life Church and write “Operation Christmas Child” (or “OCC”) on the memo line of your check and simply drop it into the Offering Boxes in the Life Center or Sanctuary. Thank you so much for your help with our 2025 OCC ministry program to bring the Good News to children around the world.

A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Church family and friends -

As I sit here this morning looking out at the sunny hot day, my head has a tendency to lead me toward complaints, whining and all sorts of negative thoughts. But then I turn to a time of prayer, which I seem to need a lot of lately, and my heart reminds me that God loves me even when I let negative worldly thoughts overtake me. I am so grateful that I've listened and learned that I only need to call out to God in any situation, whether big or small, and He is there. Whether I'm about to be put under anesthesia, in severe pain in the middle of a night or if someone says or does something to hurt me, He is there. I will admit that I am my own worst enemy! I'm not good enough, I don't study enough, I look terrible with my crooked neck/head, etc, etc. All these thoughts are ridiculous I know, but in those weak moments that we all seem to experience, the enemy digs in and it's easy to listen and believe. Especially when we find ourselves in our busy lives, utterly alone. It becomes too easy to isolate ourselves in our pain, no matter what's causing it. How beautiful it is to know that no matter what we are going through, we can call on His support. He wants to love us and bring us out of our misery, if we are willing to ask for help. I have prayed many times; Lord, I need your help today. I call out to you in faith and desperately need your help. Forgive me, love me, help me, and answer me.

Psalm 86:3-7 "Have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you. You Lord are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me."  This is such great news for us. No matter who we are or what time it is, God is waiting to hear from us.  I was truly blessed when I realized the power of prayer. Please consider joining our prayer team. All that's required is a willingness to pray for requests when someone sends a request for prayer. Contact me for more info. Now that many members are gone for the summer, please consider how you might help with greeting for Sunday worship.

Meanwhile, I'm praying for you!
