Greetings New Life Church family --
I am so happy and blessed to be sharing this note with all of you! What an experience we've been through. I pray that each and every one of you are doing okay. I know we all have been touched in some way by Hurricane Ian , some worse than others, but the thing I keep hearing over and over is an attitude of Hope and Blessings! I have heard wonderful stories of God sightings from many of you. Beautiful, heartwarming reports of experiences that clearly show that in the midst of chaos and even doubt, God was with us , protecting us and making the impossible happen. People would show up in the morning asking how can I help? Or- them grab a mo and bucket or a vacuum and get to work. Others of you worked the phone-- calling members to check on their well-being or needs. What an amazing church family we have! Our awesome Youth leader Tim and his group of young folks spent hours sorting and organizing incoming donations and supplies and then ran arms full of those boxed supplies and/or cases of water outside for community members to pick up. We are blessed by our youth!
We are blessed also to have the honor to share our campus with Samaritan's Purse volunteers who have already done amazing repairs at many of the homes in our community.
Since many of you have asked, I will give you a brief update on my post- op infection. My doctor is pleased that it is stable even with a reduced dose of the medication which was causing some other issues. We're hoping (praying) to maintain progress for another few weeks which is the ultimate goal. Thank you for your prayers. I know that is why I'm making progress and I am grateful and humbled by your love and support. This is the most incredible church family and I am blessed to feel hope while in the midst of illness and hurricanes. I believe that is because I have a heavenly Father who is strong when I feel weak. He knows where I feel inadequate- when my energy, wisdom, and strength are not enough for the obstacles I'm facing. Prayer has taught me to look to Him whenever I am afraid or lonely. I read once that we stand tallest when we are on our knees. I thank God that through His precious gift of prayer, I can reach out to the One who can open doors that no one can close and supply all of our needs in ways we can't imagine. Prayer is a powerful gift and I invite you to join us on Thursdays at noon in our sanctuary for an hour of prayer and sharing and encouragement.
Please join us for worship on Sundays through October at either 9 am Contemporary or 11 am Traditional service.
I'm praying for you!
