Operation Christmas Child Packing Party!

Tim Buck

We are having an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox packing party on 10/15 at 5pm in the Life Center. Everyone is invited to come pack a shoebox, write a note to the child receiving the box, and pray over them.

The teens of the church are sponsoring this event. They will be serving Christmas cookies and punch after your box has been filled. With your help, our youth group hopes to fill over 100 shoeboxes that night! Please join them and help them reach this lofty goal.

Thank You

Rosalie Wilford

Recently, I disrupted the worship at the 9:15 AM service by collapsing onto the aisle. It happened so quickly that even my daughter, Joanne, sitting beside me (who always anticipates my needs) couldn't react.

Apparently, I just lost my balance as I had no pain before, during, or since, thank you, Lord!

But the real blessing was and is the reaction and concern of Pastors Mike and Angela and fellow worshipers during and since then which have been overwhelming.

Thank you, Church, for your true Christian LOVE and CONCERN!

Love, Rosalie Wilford

A Word from Worship

Greetings New Life Church family and friends,

God is so good! I opened my book after prayer to this scripture: 1THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 - "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." And today I rejoice and give thanks to our Heavenly Father - because today (Monday)

was my last day of infusions. Seven days a week for seven weeks and I am praising God for saving my life once again!  You all have lifted me up with your prayers; I have been overwhelmed by your loving comments and concerns each Sunday. I know many of you have heard my partial testimony when I shared how my prayer journey began, but I was recalling the day long ago (1992) when I was getting prepared for the surgery to straighten and reconstruct my spine from below my neck to my tail bone which was scheduled to take 10-11 hours (it took 12.5). Needless to say I was very frightened but was blessed by a wonderful young pastor who sat with us at 5am and told me how to pray and give my worry to God. That was the beginning and it was the start of a new life. Do I still have problems? Obviously.  Do I still get overwhelmed? Not really. Frustration sometimes with my frequent infections and the scheduling inconveniences that it causes. But I feel blessed to still be here to serve God and share with others that our lives have purpose even with problems that confront us. Honestly, on more than one occasion, I have found myself sitting next to a patient in the infusion center who starts sharing with me and soon asks me to pray with them and for them. Amazing gift from God, when you realize that a few years ago I'd be way too shy to do that.  God has on many occasions turned my pain and problems into a purpose like that.

I could go on with many more examples of blessings I've received. The best thing I'm able to do with them is to share with you. God is doing so many amazing things in my life and in yours too. We need to listen for His direction and He will lead us on the most wonderful faith journey.  It's important to share with others; via a Bible study, small group, or prayer group. Then share your faith by serving,; there are many volunteer positions available. Watch the info in The Bridge or ask someone to help you. Thank you again for your prayers - they truly make a difference!

I am praying for you!
