The APPALACHIAN STRINGS, under the direction of Cathy Smith, casual fiddler, will be playing in Room 13 on our church campus every Tuesday from 9:30-11:00 am, starting September 13. Come join us!
We welcome all acoustic instruments like the dulcimer, ukulele, guitar, violin and many more. We are a very casual, not professional, group of beginners, experienced, and once-in-a-while players that just love to play music! We have music to start, so dust off your instruments and join us! We have several that don’t read music and play by ear. If that is you, don’t hesitate to come. Many songs are very familiar.
If you have any questions you can contact me at cmsmith8@msn.com. No email? Call me at 607-427-3511.

Halloween Outreach - October 31, 2022
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... We need YOUR help to make this year's Trunk or Treat a big success! We are in need of Candy Donations to help serve Punta Gorda and surrounding communities. You can bring candy to Lenox Hall and leave it in the designated bin. Please make sure the candy you donate is individually wrapped. Your donations will be a big help in making this event successful!
We are anticipating a large number of children and we want to make sure we have enough candy to share with all of our Trunk-or-Treaters!! So please help us make this event a ‘fun’tastic Halloween celebration for our children.
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... In order to make this year's Trunk or Treat FUN and SAFE, we need YOUR help! Extra hands are always helpful! We will need help with set up, tear down, parking attendants, popcorn poppers, candy runners, and MORE!
With so many people visiting the NEW LIFE campus, more hands makes for lighter work and a safer environment for all or our guests, staff and volunteers. If you are interested in helping, please email Becca at Becca@newlifeforall.church
IT’S GOING TO BE A SPOOKTACULAR EVENT!!!!

Please accept this message as a huge note of thanks and appreciation. It is difficult to find the appropriate words to express my gratitude, but I am going to try my best.
About this time last year- obviously September isn't my best month-- I was going through a different health crisis, and wrote an article about acts of radical kindness. So forgive me, but I'm going to share those thoughts again since they came back to me full circle. The story in Luke 10:25-37 of the Good Samaritan tells about the man traveling on foot from Jerusalem to Jericho who was attacked by robbers. A priest and a Levite came along but both left him. Then a Samaritan came along and showed mercy and kindness. Praying about that parable led me to write about showing real Christian love and kindness to others. I continue to believe that in doing that we show the heart of Jesus. And you, both as my church family, and as individuals, have blessed me in ways too numerous to list here. From the moment word got out that I was scheduled for foot surgery, people prayed; and the blessings kept coming! Hugs of thanks to all the many ushers/greeters who stepped up and asked " how can I help"? ; and to all those who sent messages of love and support; and you fabulous cooks who blessed Don by bringing meals to give him a break; thanks also to all three of our pastors for praying with me to soothe my spirit. Of course I give thanks to my heavenly Father for leading me to a skilled and kind surgeon who knew instantly what needed to be done and got me on his schedule quickly; and the huge blessing of saving us from a potential serious motor vehicle accident as we traveled to the Surgery Center the morning of surgery when traffic moved into our lane on 41 and Don was able to avoid contact with any other cars. All of your expressions of kindness, and love filled me with such a sense of calm and peace, like I've never experienced facing any of my other surgeries. I love you all for that!
Now I'd like to ask you to pass it on -- I know I will. Here are some things we can do everyday.
* Send a card to someone.
* Pay for someone else's food in line.
* Drop off flowers, a plant or food to a neighbor.
* Pray for your hardest to love person.
* Always say thank-you with a big smile.
I know there are many ways we can show others the heart of Jesus . I am humbled and overwhelmed with the kindness and love you have shared with me through all these blessings. Please stop by our beautiful sanctuary on Thursdays at noon for a time of prayer and sharing.
I am truly blessed by your prayers.
I am praying for you!

Tuesday Night Small Groups

Beginning Sunday, October 2, The Harmony Class will begin a new 4-week DVD-based study “The Case For Christ” (book & movie) by investigative journalist and former atheist, Lee Strobel. This study will pose challenging questions and explore the real evidence of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Strobel shares what he learned when he sought the truth about Christianity which reveals compelling facts about Christ that cannot be ignored. Why believe Jesus is the Son of God? How can we know he rose from the dead? Can I have doubts and still be a Christian? Come join us at 10:30 a.m. in Lenox Hall. All are welcome to attend.
