Charlotte County Peace River Camp Gideons
|
|
The local Gideons Peace River Camp distributes and shares the Gospel in over 50 local public areas. When people receive the Bibles, God takes over. The Holy Spirit wins people to Christ, we are just the messengers. In this regard Gideons partner with local churches to spread God’s Word. Where We’ve Been Locally this last year which ends in May:
|
|
Since 1908, Gideons International has distributed over 2 billion copies of the Bible and New Testament in over 200 countries around the world; published in over 95 different languages.
All this happens because of people like you, through your donations and the dedicated Gideons. As to where the Gideon name came from, check out and read the 6th chapter in the book of Judges in the Bible. We thank you for your support.

NEW LIFE FAMILY... We need YOUR help to make this year's Trunk or Treat a big success! We are in need of Candy Donations to help serve Punta Gorda and surrounding communities. You can bring candy to Lenox Hall and leave it in the designated bin. Please make sure the candy you donate is individually wrapped. Your donations will be a big help in making this event successful!
We are anticipating a large number of children and we want to make sure we have enough candy to share with all of our Trunk-or-Treaters!! So please help us make this event a ‘fun’tastic Halloween celebration for our children.
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... In order to make this year's Trunk or Treat FUN and SAFE, we need YOUR help! Extra hands are always helpful! We will need help with set up, tear down, parking attendants, popcorn poppers, candy runners, and MORE!
With so many people visiting the NEW LIFE campus, more hands makes for lighter work and a safer environment for all or our guests, staff and volunteers. If you are interested in helping, please email Becca at Becca@newlifeforall.church
IT’S GOING TO BE A SPOOKTACULAR EVENT!!!!

Hello, New Life Church, my name is Marissa and this summer I had the opportunity to go on my first summer mission trip. My main job was at a therapy horse ranch called Freedom Reigns Ranch where they mentor children to young adults who have experienced trauma. God created horses to know how people feel so they are amazing therapy animals. They gave me many different tasks from painting to cleaning stalls. It was a life-changing experience for me so think about going on a mission trip, I'd recommend it to anybody!

Greetings New Life Church family -
Happy September! This summer seemed to fly past in super high speed. After prayer time as I opened my Bible and a couple of my books on prayer they fell open to Psalm 90:12 -"Teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom". I think when you have challenges of any kind, you learn to value the gift of time. Each morning when I wake up, I thank God for another day. For me, having this time in conversation with God helps me to focus and eliminate anxiety, and worries, which are a terrible waste of time, and instead be filled with His hope and sense of peace. On those days when emergencies of any kind arise, I'm able to pray and listen to direction from our Lord, rather than waste time being non-productive. Learning to be patient and listen was a gift I received during long times of health issues. Sounds crazy, I know, but when you're at those times when you don't know what to do, or are overwhelmed with fear, you can receive the gift of peace. Jesus said "I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace ". I've spent many situations over the years struggling with fear and anxiety about what to do to solve the problem. Do I still have life situations or nights of little sleep because of pain? Yes, on occasion- but now I trust the Lord to lead me through it. Deuteronomy 31:8 promises, "The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you. He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
A big thank you to everyone who attended our recent Welcome Team meeting. We had a great discussion with much good feedback. Anyone who was unable to attend but would be willing to help greet or usher on a rotation schedule please let me know at my email below. Stay tuned for info re. a training session date. Also be sure to check our website for upcoming events. I think it's going to be an exciting and fun Fall season!
Remember- I'm praying for you!

Beginning Sunday, October 2, The Harmony Class will begin a new 4-week DVD-based study “The Case For Christ” (book & movie) by investigative journalist and former atheist, Lee Strobel. This study will pose challenging questions and explore the real evidence of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Strobel shares what he learned when he sought the truth about Christianity which reveals compelling facts about Christ that cannot be ignored. Why believe Jesus is the Son of God? How can we know he rose from the dead? Can I have doubts and still be a Christian? Come join us at 10:30 a.m. in Lenox Hall. All are welcome to attend.
