The APPALACHIAN STRINGS, under the direction of Cathy Smith, casual fiddler, will be playing in Room 13 on our church campus every Tuesday from 9:30-11:00 am, starting September 13. Come join us!
We welcome all acoustic instruments like the dulcimer, ukulele, guitar, violin and many more. We are a very casual, not professional, group of beginners, experienced, and once-in-a-while players that just love to play music! We have music to start, so dust off your instruments and join us! We have several that don’t read music and play by ear. If that is you, don’t hesitate to come. Many songs are very familiar.
If you have any questions you can contact me at cmsmith8@msn.com. No email? Call me at 607-427-3511.

Please see the list below of the newest additions to our collection:
- Control: Why we Crave it, the Anxiety it gives us, and the Real Power God Promises.
- Fostering Hope: The Story of Crossroads Hope Academy
- The Practice of the Presence of God
- Grandparenting with a Purpose: Effective Ways to Pray for your Grandchildren
- Shadow over England by Roseanna White Two books in a Christian historical fiction series set in WW 2 England.
If there is anyone who would like to purchase/donate a book for our church library in memory of a loved one, we can obtain memorial book plates and make this happen.

Halloween Outreach - October 31, 2022
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... We need YOUR help to make this year's Trunk or Treat a big success! We are in need of Candy Donations to help serve Punta Gorda and surrounding communities. You can bring candy to Lenox Hall and leave it in the designated bin. Please make sure the candy you donate is individually wrapped. Your donations will be a big help in making this event successful!
We are anticipating a large number of children and we want to make sure we have enough candy to share with all of our Trunk-or-Treaters!! So please help us make this event a ‘fun’tastic Halloween celebration for our children.
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... In order to make this year's Trunk or Treat FUN and SAFE, we need YOUR help! Extra hands are always helpful! We will need help with set up, tear down, parking attendants, popcorn poppers, candy runners, and MORE!
With so many people visiting the NEW LIFE campus, more hands makes for lighter work and a safer environment for all or our guests, staff and volunteers. If you are interested in helping, please email Becca at Becca@newlifeforall.church
IT’S GOING TO BE A SPOOKTACULAR EVENT!!!!

Greetings New Life Church family -
I hope everyone had a holiday weekend exactly that they hoped for- whether you had a weekend away, or you went sales shopping or you stayed home and had a quiet, restful.,relaxing time.
We were blessed to have family come over for a time of food and fun in the pool. Our beautiful red-headed great granddaughter, Marley loved splashing around in ithe water, and entertained us all afternoon. We are definitely blessed to have family living nearby, and to also have a loving church family. God is good! Speaking of families, did you notice our newest adorable little one in church on Sunday? Ask Ms. Becca about the beautiful blue-eyed blond baby girl she had in her arms. Welcome little one!
Be sure to listen to announcements and watch The Bridge for upcoming events and classes that will be starting up.
Some of you may have heard that I'll be having surgery on my foot this Friday. My foot has been a problem for some time with recurring infections and pain with resulting deformities. Since that is one area of my body which has not yet required screws and other hardware to hold it together, I'm not surprised that the time had come. Kidding aside, someone asked if I am angry to have to go through yet another surgery. This person knows that I pray and I'm sad if this causes doubt about the power of prayer. I believe that God is in work in each of us, whether we know it or not, or whether we want it or not. I also believe that God takes no pleasure in making life hard. I think when He seemingly throws roadblocks in our way, He begins doing good work in us, and when our faith is tested, our endurance has a chance to grow. My experience has been that God somehow uses my struggles for good. Life can come at us in a fury- whether pain, loss, or other catastrophes, but with God's help we can bounce back. I read somewhere that "if God can make a prince out of a prisoner, don't you think He can make something good out of your struggle "? I will share however, that before I lived a life of prayer, I tried to hide my pain, my feelings of insecurities and my sense of failure that my prayers weren't being answered. The more I prayed and the more I listened, through His word, and many writings of prayer warriors, I heard the most important message: You must persevere. You must continue praying whether you see immediate results or not. Prayer binds us together with our Father and is the key to receiving His answers. Matthew 21:22 "Whatever you ask in prayer. . . If you believe. .
you will receive". It's a beautiful journey and I invite you to join me. Each Thursday a group of folks gather in the sanctuary at 12 noon for an hour of sharing and quiet prayer. If you're unable to join us please take a few moments at noon and pray wherever you're at. There is power in prayer! And now I'll ask for your help! When you read this on Friday I'll probably be in surgery or recovery so please pray for an uneventful recovery with complete healing. I thank you.
I'm praying for you!

Zoom Bible Study - Begins September 12
|
|
Meeting on ZOOM Mondays at 10am, September 12 - December 19. To join, please email Cathy Smith, cmsmith8@msn.com.
“Paul: A Biography”
Paul is a compelling modern biography that reveals the apostle's greater role in Christian history—as an inventor of new paradigms for how we understand Jesus and what he accomplished—and celebrates his stature as one of the most effective and influential intellectuals in human history.
|
|
Beginning Sunday, October 2, The Harmony Class will begin a new 4-week DVD-based study “The Case For Christ” (book & movie) by investigative journalist and former atheist, Lee Strobel. This study will pose challenging questions and explore the real evidence of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Strobel shares what he learned when he sought the truth about Christianity which reveals compelling facts about Christ that cannot be ignored. Why believe Jesus is the Son of God? How can we know he rose from the dead? Can I have doubts and still be a Christian? Come join us at 10:30 a.m. in Lenox Hall. All are welcome to attend.

If it is or has been raining, Praise in the Park will relocate to our historic Sanctuary.
