Surf City Expansion Groundbreaking

On June 2, CFCC held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the 10,500-square-foot expansion of the Surf City location. The new addition will double the facility’s size and include workforce development labs, a biology lab, a veterans support center, and more. This project marks a significant step in expanding student and community services.

New Hanover Healthcare Career Partnership

On June 9, CFCC joined its partners in the New Hanover Healthcare Career Partnership to share progress on strengthening the region’s healthcare workforce. Backed by a $22.3 million investment from The Endowment, the partnership connects CFCC, UNCW, New Hanover County Schools, and the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. In 2024 alone, CFCC awarded over $255,000 in nursing scholarships and $510,000 in housing stipends, along with critical support services. Learn more at newhanoverhealthcarecareerpartnership.com.

Program News

CFCC is excited to announce the launch of two new certificate programs, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. These programs are designed to help credentialed imaging professionals advance their careers and specialize in two of the most in-demand imaging modalities in modern healthcare. 

Cape Fear Community College is excited to announce an engaging lineup of career exploration summer camps for teens at the Burgaw and Surf City locations. These camps offer unique opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and experience hands-on learning. All camps are for students ages 12 and up.

Eligible veterans and military-affiliated students can now use their Veterans Affairs education benefits to cover tuition and fees for CFCC's CDL Truck Driving and Paramedic programs, two high-demand career training paths.

Beginning this fall, students can enroll in a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence program that blends hands-on training with foundational coursework—preparing graduates for high-demand careers in AI and machine learning.
