"Sometimes I think the biggest challenge in talking about the church is telling ourselves the truth about it—acknowledging the scars, staring down the ugly bits, marveling at its resiliency, and believing that this flawed and magnificent body is enough, for now, to carry us through the world and into the arms of Christ."

The opportunities for youth to be involved in the life of the church keep pouring in.

We've had youth hand out Trunk-or-Treat postcards in worship the last two weeks and I appreciate your help in spreading the word. Now is the time to register , if your family wants to host a trunk this year. Please sign up in advance!

Bible Sunday was a wonderful experience and I've heard from people of many generations who appreciated having a moment to celebrate our young people receiving their new Bibles. May your home be a place of exploring the Word together and seeking Jesus through the stories that echo into our time and place.

We're taking a group of teens to The Event . Some parents may remember this back when it was called JUMYs or UMYs. Well, registration is due , so let's go for it! And yes, we definitely need a MOM who will join us for the weekend, please!

Finally, there's a big need for more families to please sign up for the Bread Break Sunday Night Meals . We'll have new options in 2018 with a newly-designed kitchen and for 2017 we need families who can step up to the plate and sign up, thanks.

The leaves are changing, the school year is settling into a groove, and Jesus loves you. It is a good time to be a part of something wonderful, my friends.

In Christ,
Rev. Nate Melcher
Associate Pastor
