Texas A&M System Chancellor's Council on Academic Technology & Innovative Education Summer Conference


Theme: Celebrating Our Successes: Looking Back as We Leap Forward


Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit proposals describing their innovative uses of technology to support student learning and success.

Acceptance notifications will go out in early April.

Don't Let Students Miss Out on Their Refund


Starting now, Student Business Services is moving away from BankMobile and has introduced a simpler, more convenient option—direct deposit through the Jagwire > Paybill site. Making it easier for students to receive any potential refund.


Encourage students to follow these three simple steps:


  1. Login to Jagwire > Pay Bill and scroll to "Sign Up for Direct Deposit Refunds" under the Your Overview tab.
  2. Read and agree to the Financial Agreement.
  3. Enter your bank information and submit.

Hands-on Training on AI and HPC


The High Performance Computing Research Center will conduct an on-campus, hands-on training session on April 30. If you are interested in high-performance computing in linguistics or quantitative finance and chemistry, submit the following survey to provide your preferences for training topics. Your input will help curate relevant discussion topics and materials. Visit High Performance Computing Research Center for more information and training details.

No Hesitation, Just Registration


Priority registration for Fall 2025 will happen from March 24 through March 28. We ask faculty and staff to support student registration during this critical time. Based on their classification, students will have a specific date and time when their registration period will begin. Please encourage students to view the full schedule and be prepared to register.

New Absence Management Apps in Workday


Workday recently updated the apps relating to requesting and managing absences on March 15. 

 

Here are a few key updates:


  • The "Menu" tab on the Workday home page will look different
  • Two new apps: Request Absences and Manage Absences


These apps may already appear in your menu, however, if you do not see them, select "add" to add them to your menu.

AI Explore Days


During the spring semester, students, faculty and staff are invited to stop by for AI Explore Days. These events, held on the following Wednesdays from 12-1 p.m. in the University Library (BLH) Room 202, will be a chance to learn about new generative AI tools and how to use them effectively.

Educare Groundbreaking


Join A&M-SA for the official groundbreaking of Educare San Antonio. The facility will serve a vital need in South San Antonio and Bexar County, which have been designated a ‘childcare desert’ with a severe deficit of accessible, high-quality early education options. The school plans to serve over 200 children and families.

University Highlights

Making a Difference in the Lives of Foster Children


The Honors Program is transforming lives through its partnership with the WHIT Program, a nonprofit that provides free tutoring to foster children across Texas. Over the past year, honors students have dedicated nearly 300 hours to helping foster youth improve their academic skills, with criminology student Clara Rodriguez earning recognition as Tutor of the Year.

Esports Program Teaches Students Valuable Personal and Professional Skills


The University esports program under the guidance of Head Coach Aaron Jaggers had a recent victory at the first-ever Texas A&M University System Showdown. In esports students gain real-world experience in broadcasting, marketing, and event management while competing at a high level. The program continues to grow, offering students the resources and support to turn their passion for gaming into professional opportunities.
