Weeks of Welcome Volunteer Opportunities


Volunteer opportunities will be available in one-hour shifts at two booth locations to assist students with any questions on Monday, Aug. 25, and Tuesday, Aug. 26. The Cisneros Institute will provide you with the tools and information to help answer students' questions. Please consider volunteering to help make Weeks of Welcome a positive and engaging experience for all returning Jaguars!


Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.

Global Ambassadors Program: Connect with International Students


The new Global Ambassadors Program is focused on supporting and connecting international students through peer mentorship and cultural exchange. The goal is to help international students feel welcomed, while also giving ambassadors the opportunity to grow as leaders and engage in cross-cultural learning.


We need your support to make this program a success!

Ready To Work Summer Intake Sessions


Need tuition assistance? Let Ready to Work help you!


Ready to Work is San Antonio’s premier training, education, and employment program. Ready to Work provides tuition assistance for those who qualify. 


What to bring:

  • A Social Security Card / Birth Certificate and a Valid Drivers License/ID
  • Proof of Address (CPS bill, ID, Lease Agreement, Mortgage Statement)
  • Recent Paystubs (if employed)

Web Accessibility Training Coming Soon


Web Accessibility Training sessions with Accessibility Director, Lydia Harkey will be offered on Aug. 6 and Aug. 7.


Each session is open to all employees but required for those uploading content to the University's websites or social media channels.

A&M-San Antonio Pioneers Graduate Education with Purpose and Support


With nearly 1,000 graduate students enrolled, A&M-San Antonio is providing unique opportunities for career transformation and community impact. The University offers a variety of graduate programs, including in business, education, computer science, and cybersecurity, paving the way for graduates to increase their earning potential while also helping fulfill real-world workforce demands.

University Awarded NSF Grant to Train Students in Ecosystem Research at Espada


The University has been awarded a $372,000 NSF grant to recruit and train students in environmental research at the nearby Espada property. Led by Dr. Davida Smyth, the project will provide hands-on experience in studying the effects of pollution, climate change, and invasive species on local ecosystems. Partnering with the San Antonio River Authority and other community organizations, the initiative aims to build a strong research culture while preparing the next generation of environmental professionals.

Institutional Review Board Submission Transition to CAYUSE


Starting Aug. 1, 2025, all new IRB submissions must be made through the CAYUSE systemEmailed submissions for new protocols will no longer be accepted.


There will be a pause on emailed submissions from July 15 to July 31. During this time, no new protocols will be accepted via email.


Students can contact their mentors for assistance and guidance during the transition. If you have any grant-related submission needs, please contact Dr. Rani Muthukrishnan as soon as possible.
