Join Women for Kansas as we celebrate Women's Equality Day with a presentation by Jeanne Klein about the Kansas Suffrage Movement and the fight for women's voting rights in the Sunflower State.
Jeanne Klein, a retired KU professor of theatre, began studying Kansas suffragists in 2019. As a member of the Kansas Suffragist Memorial Committee, she provided brief biographies of 13 “Rebel Women” depicted in Phyllis Garibay-Coon’s mural now installed at the State Capitol. Her presentation on the Kansas Woman Suffragist Movement intends to inspire all Kansas citizens with a greater appreciation of their voting rights.
The presentation will include a powerpoint with question and answer session following.
