St. Patrick's Day Parade & Reception THIS SUNDAY!
Set your clocks ahead to be on time for the parade; then come back to our place for the best post-parade in Putnam!
Come out this Sunday, March 13th, and march with us in the Northern Westchester/Putnam St. Patrick's Day Parade!
The luck of the Irish appears to be with us, as the forecast is for sunny skies and not too cold temperatures. All Council members, Ladies Auxiliary members, and friends are welcome to march behind our banner. Bring the whole family!
Park at the Council by noon and we'll carpool over to the Lake Plaza Shopping Center (home of Stop & Shop and Job Lot) on Route 6, where shuttle buses will take us to the line-up area. Lineup will be between Mt. Hope Road and the Mahopac Fire Department.
The road will close at 1:00 p.m., and the parade steps off at 2 p.m. The parade will be kicked off with the Pledge of Allegiance at 1:30 by the 9/11 Memorial on the corner of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road.
|
|
Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, so "spring forward" and move your clock up an hour tonight before going to bed!
Right after the parade, come back to our Council Hall and Lounge, where we will have our fantastic corned beef luncheon and reception. Live entertainment begins at 4:30 p.m. (See our flyer below for details.) This event is one of the highlights of our social calendar, so don't miss it!

FISH FRY FRIDAYS ARE HERE!
Our beloved Lenten Fish Fry Fridays are back every Friday in Lent [except Good Friday] from 4:30-7:30 p.m.!
Advance ordering is required, and we have a new ordering website (with no fees!), so please read-on carefully!
Ordering and Service
Take out is available, and we are pleased to announce that we have reopened our dining room. Seating will be family style, but there should be plenty of room to sit where, and with whom, you want.
SENIORS HOUR: Back by popular demand, each week from 4:30 - 5:30 P.M. is for seniors' orders only. Ordering is open to everyone from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
You must pre-order in advance by using our new order website. No walk-in orders please! All orders must be placed by 8 p.m. on the Thursday before the upcoming Friday.
When you pick up your order or dine-in, you can pay with cash, check, or credit card. While we are not requiring pre-payment online like last year, we do ask that you notify us as soon as possible if you have to cancel an order that you placed.
Orders may be placed for service in 15 minute intervals starting at 4:30 on Fridays. Our aim is to have all meals ready for pickup at the time you specify. Dine-in orders will be filled when you arrive and brought down from the kitchen so they are as hot and fresh as possible.
Pickup will be inside our hall, and curbside pickup is available upon request.
As always, quantities on our weekly specials are limited.
Seniors and others without internet access may call PGK Mike McDonald at (845) 629-4651 to have him place your order online and arrange for payment. Please help us spread the word to them.
We regret to announce that we have been forced to make modest increases in our prices. Even though we purchase wholesale, our costs have increased dramatically from last year. For example the cost of fish for our Fish & Chips and our frying oil have more than doubled; shrimp and clams are up 30 percent; and butter is up 70 percent. Costs for paper and plastic products used for serving meals has also increased dramatically. Thank you for your understanding our need to keep pace with these increasing costs, and for your continued support!
Orders may be placed each week starting Monday morning for the following Friday and will close Thursday 8 p.m. each week.
Order early to ensure your choice of meals!
The Cause
PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT CHARITY! Over the past several years, our Fish Fry Fridays have raised thousands of dollars for charities! Our Fish Fry beneficiaries have included the St. James Parish Food Pantry, Disabled American Veterans, Special Olympics NY, the KofC Christians at Risk Fund; CAREERS Support Solutions, and our scholarship fund.

Thanks also to everybody who turned out for our great Super Bowl Party on February 13th. We had another AMAZING pot-luck buffet courtesy of many of our creative and generous guests! This year's game was a good one, and the evening was a fun time to be with friends (new and old) and family, and to share a delicious feast.
