Welcome to the April 2026 edition of our Council newsletter!

As usual, a few quick but important items right up-front:

• Our next regular business meeting will be Wednesday, April 8th, starting at 7:30 p.m. Dinner for $5 will be at 6:30, as usual. All members are welcome.

• Applications for our Otto J. Romanino Memorial Scholarships are now being accepted. Click here for the application form and instructions. We award scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are pursuing full-time higher education. The deadline for submission of applications is May 1st. Contact GK Rick Kreps or our Scholarship Chairman, PGK Ralph Fleischman, with any questions.



• Council Cleanup on May 9th - We will be doing our annual deep cleaning of our kitchen and pantry on Saturday, May 9th, starting at 9 a.m. We'll also be cleaning up outside around our building. Volunteers are absolutely needed for this critically important maintenance, to keep our building and grounds in top shape for our members, Ladies Auxiliary, guests and hall rental customers. Please lend a hand!

Holy Mackerel! Our 2026 Fish Fry Was Another Reel Success!

Our twelfth year of Lenten Fish Fry Fridays is now in the books, with almost 1,600 meals served in just six Fridays, each one of them made hot and fresh to order.

Despite some large increases in our costs, we continued to give our customers great meals at affordable prices. And thanks to their incredible support, we will once again be making donations to worthy charities and causes with the proceeds. Look for a list of recipients in a future edition of our newsletter.

Our very exhausted Fish Fry Crew sends out a great big THANK YOU to our many loyal supporters and the many new friends we made this year, who came to our humble Council Fish Fry from places as diverse as Danbury, Newtown, Pawling, Bronxville, Buchanan, Fishkill, Somers, Granite Springs, New Fairfield, and even Langhorne, Pennsylvania!

We hope to be able to see you all again next year!

2026 C&B Kickoff Time!

It's that time again! We're kicking off our Council's participation in the state's 2026 Charitable & Benevolent (C&B) Program, and this year there are some changes.

C&B Chairman Kevin Shea will be speaking to this at our Business Meeting on Wednesday, April 8th. 

Of note is that this year we will be selling books for $10 each with two chances per book. They will only require filling out your name and phone number. There will not be a back cover to complete for the Final Drawing, as in the past.

Buy 5 books ($50) or more at one time and you will be entered into a special drawing for a $100 VISA gift card!

As in years past, there will be Quick Start and Early Bird Drawings in addition to the Final Drawings. So you'll want to buy your books early to take advantage of these many additional chances to win cash prizes!

More details will be given at our meeting, and Kevin will have plenty of raffle books for you to purchase and to take for sale to others. 

Thanks in advance for your support of this important council fundraiser that also benefits important charities statewide.

Karaoke Night Returns 4/17

Pick our your favorite song and start warming up those pipes because Karaoke Night returns to our Council on Friday, April 17th, starting at 8 p.m.!

It's guaranteed to be a blast because it's presented by that talented local duo Soulmates -- our very own John and Kim Crecco!

Our Lounge will be offering drink specials, and you just know there are going to be some memorable performances. Don't miss it!

Get Your Game on at Game Night - 4/24!

Get ready! Get set! GO! ... to our second Game Night on Saturday, April 24th, starting at 7 p.m.

Last year's Game Night was such a hit that it's coming back again by popular demand! Our Ladies Auxiliary promises that this will be another memorable night with fun games that you can play or just watch and laugh along with the players. 

These are not board games! Instead, these are get-up-and laugh games, team games, and relay games (no running!). 

So put on some comfy attire, get your game on, and come out to have some fun!

Comedy Night Returns for Mothers Day!

Make your reservations for our next night of Comedy Dinner Theater on Saturday, May 9th, just in time for Mothers Day. Take the mothers in your life out for a great dinner and show!

This is another fabulous three-headliner show featuring top local comics from major entertainment venues and media appearances. Enjoy the show after a delicious dinner catered by Luigi's Famiglia Cucina of Carmel.

Our Next Cash Bingo is Sunday, April 19!

Our Ladies Auxiliary presents another fun afternoon of Cash Bingo on Sunday, April 19h.

Doors open 1 p.m.; First game is at 2 p.m.

Your $35 (if prepaid!) gets you admission and all-nighters. Extra Specials and Bell Jar tickets will be sold.

Walk-ins will pay $40 at the door -- if there are any remaining seats.

Proceeds will be donated to local food pantries!

There will be a concessions table, but feel free to bring your own snacks. Complimentary coffee and tea will be available.

Our fantastic George Dean Memorial Annual Golf Outing will be on Friday, June 5th!

In addition to a great round of golf at Putnam County Golf Course, you'll get a delicious lunch, beverage cart, golfer SWAG, prizes, and our own sumptuous filet mignon dinner, all for only $190.

This is our annual major fundraiser that enables our Council to do the many charitable, community and parish activities that we do on a regular basis. Please support this event by golfing, taking a sponsorship, donating prizes, or helping us get others to do the same.

Fourth Degree News

MEETING NOTICE

The next meeting of Mother Cabrini Assembly will be Thursday, April 16th, at our Council. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. All Fourth Degree Sir Knights are welcome and encouraged to attend.

NEWS

There will be a Fourth Degree Exemplification at Our Lady of Mercy in Port Chester on Saturday, April 25th. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the ceremony starts at 10 a.m.. It will be followed by a luncheon at nearby Port Chester Council. Please speak with Worthy GK Rick Kreps or Faithful Navigator Mike Vrabel if you are interested in receiving the honors of the highest degree of Knighthood in our Order.

West/Put St. Patrick's Day Parade Awards



The Northern Westchester / Putnam Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee will be presenting awards for the best groups in this year's parade on Tuesday, April 7th.

The festivities begin at at 7 p.m. in our Council Hall. All are welcome to attend.

• April 11 (Sat.): Volunteer for Special Olympics - Lend a hand for the Time Trials at Mahopac High School (421 Baldwin Place). Arrive by 9 a.m. and you'll be done before 1 p.m. This is a great opportunity to volunteer with your child or grandchild – they can get service hours, you can show your charitable spirit, and you both can share a great memory. Please wear your Knights of Columbus hat or jacket. (This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather!) If you have any questions, please contact brother Knight Chris Cohen by email.



• May 22 (Fri): Summer Kickoff BBQ and Founders' Award Ceremony - Save the date for our annual family barbecue and pig roast where we'll honor a special brother Knight who has provided exemplary service to our Council. It is always an incredible feast and an important occasion, where we recognize the brothers who have made our Council so successful over the years. Bring the whole family and kickoff summer the right way!

• May 29 (Fri): Admission Degree - We are holding the Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity on Friday evening, May 29th, starting at 7 p.m. Candidates should arrive at 6 p.m. properly attired. Please speak with GK Rick Kreps or Chancellor Peter Carey if you know of a Catholic gentleman wishing to join our Order and our Council.
