The Lake Current - March 2025

Welcome to the March 2025 edition of our Council newsletter!

As usual, a few quick but important items right up-front:

  • Our next regular business meeting will be Wednesday, March 12th, starting at 7:30 p.m. Dinner for $5 will be at 6:30, as usual. All members are welcome. We will be presenting a donation to St. James Parish with the proceeds from our 2025 Men's Beefsteak Dinner. PLEASE BRING YOUR 2025 MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH YOU!

  • On Sunday, March 23rd, we will be honoring Sir Knight Mike Vrabel and the Ladies Auxiliary will be honoring Past President Kim Crecco at the 22nd Annual Westchester-Putnam Chapter Awards Gala, held once again at Mulino's at Lake Isle in Eastchester. The gala starts at noon and the cost is $100 per person, which includes a fantastic cocktail hour, dinner, desert, wine, beer and soda. Please send in your payment if you have made your reservations! You may also pay in-person at Wednesday night's meeting, where we will be able to accept credit cards.
  • This Month's "Draft Beer of the Month" is Smithwick's Imported Premium Irish Ale. It's a classic Irish Red Ale with a distinctive ruby red color and a refreshingly balanced taste, blending mild hops, sweet malt, and roasted barley. The gentle bitterness of the hops is perfectly complemented by the sweet, malty notes. So ask for a draft “Smih-diks” next time you're in the Lounge, and enjoy a pint of Ireland's finest!

The Cause

PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT CHARITY! Over the past several years, our Fish Fry Fridays have raised thousands of dollars for charities! Our Fish Fry beneficiaries have included the St. James Parish Food Pantry, Disabled American Veterans, Special Olympics NY, the KofC Christians at Risk Fund; CAREERS Support Solutions, and our scholarship fund.

Thanks to your support, we hope to continue to make charitable donations from our Fish Fry proceeds, as well as assist our community with keeping their Lenten obligation of abstinence from meat.
