One Day for UK is a celebration of the University of Kentucky. On April 21st, 2022, alumni, friends, faculty, staff and more are encouraged to support their favorite UK college, unit or cause through giving.
This year, CPH is directing contributions to the Student Support Fund, a new fund designed to help our own current students who are experiencing a financial need or crisis while enrolled in the College.

Twenty-one public health departments recently achieved accreditation or reaccreditation status, after completion of a systematic review process against national standards. One of these departments is the Kentucky Department for Public Health, which received National initial accreditation.

Each year, on behalf of the Dean Donna K. Arnett, the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health honors two individuals each for the Public Health Legend, Distinguished Alumni Leader, and Promising Alumni Leader awards. Congratulations to this year's winners!

The Center for Health Equity Transformation (CHET) is pleased to issue their 3rd annual call for health equity-focused pilot grants. In collaboration with the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), they are accepting letters of intent from CHET core faculty and affiliates through April 1, 2022.

Videos featuring sessions, roundtables, and presentations from the 2021 Kentucky Harm Reduction Summit are now available to the public. The theme of the summit, “Ending the Epidemics,” encouraged presenters to focus on the current epidemics of opioid and other substance use disorders, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and hepatitis C. Several classes with continuing education credit are available.

Candidate, Dr. Emma Sartin, PhD, MPH, is participating in a job talk (with Q&A to follow) with our HBS department on Friday, April 1st at 10am via Zoom.
Dr. Sartin is a PhD-trained Developmental Psychologist with expertise in Health Behaviors (MPH). She currently leads a mixed-methods research program primarily focused on improving transportation outcomes for vulnerable populations.

The Center for Innovation in Population Health presents a free webinar: " What if homelessness was not just about housing, but also about trauma recovery?” on Tuesday, April 12th.
Featuring Dr. Natalie Pope, an Associate Professor and PhD Program Director at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, and Dr. Sarah Ascienzo, Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at North Carolina State University. This online event is free and open to all.
