CPH celebrates legends and leaders at
awards ceremony
CPH recently honored and celebrated their 2022 legends and leaders of public health at an awards ceremony. Congratulations to this year's recipients, which included: Greg Corby-Lee, Dr. Larry Prybil, Dr. Angela Dearinger, Dr. Erin Abner, Dr. Neil Horsley, and Esias Bedingar.

Our Master of Health Administration (MHA) program has established a new partnership with UK Healthcare resulting in new administrative practicum positions for students starting in the Fall 2022.
 
Lincoln Shade, current student in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics PhD program and member of the College of Medicine’s MD/PhD program, was originally motivated to this program and study neurodegenerative diseases, in part, due to his family’s circumstances.

CPH Faculty elect representatives to HCCC and University Senate
Rick Ingram, HMP, was elected to the University Senate for a three-year term effective 7/1/2022 and our other representative is Rich Charnigo, BST. Martha Riddell, HMP, was elected to the Health Care Colleges Council (HCCC) for an additional two-year term effective 7/1/22 and our other representatives are Rick Ingram, HMP, and Beth Lacy, EPI.
Dr. John Lyons inducted into Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health
Our Innovation in Population Health Center Director, John Lyons, Ph.D., was recently inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. Membership in Delta Omega reflects an individual's dedication to quality in the field of public health and to the protection and advancement of the health of all people. 
The pictodictionary focuses on the six major overdose-related substances (heroin, opioids, fentanyl, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine) in Kentucky, and features a guide to resources for prevention, treatment, community action, and risk reduction across the Commonwealth.

To further support and recognize the efforts faculty put into teaching, the Dean's 2022 Teaching Awards at CPH include the Outstanding Teaching Award and the Innovation in Teaching Award. Nominations for the "Innovation in Teaching Award" has been extended to May 31st. Winners will be announced on June 6th.

The Kentucky Blood Center will be on campus, Wednesday, June 1st from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Gatton Student Center for a one-day summer drive. There are some amazing giveaways (2022 Toyota RAV4, an all-inclusive Jamaican vacation, etc.) that the Kentucky Blood Center is offering throughout the summer for all of their donors statewide.
