NASW-Wisconsin Chapter Elections Are Open


The 2025 NASW-WI Chapter elections for statewide and regional board of directors positions will run from Thursday, May 15th through Thursday, June 5th, 2025.


In order to vote you will need your membership number. Please refer to the postcard that will be mailed out the week of May 5th that includes your membership number. You can also look up your number here: or email admin.naswwi@socialworkers.org, or call and leave a message at the NASW-WI office at  608-257-6334 to request this information, or to request a paper ballot. Paper ballots must be requested by Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 and postmarked by Thursday, June 5th, 2025.

NASW 2025 National Elections are open! 

The National Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification (NCNLI) is pleased to present the slate of candidates for the NASW 2025 national election. The voting period is May 1-30, 2025. Members eligible to vote must be in good standing (current membership and no pending sanctions). Members can vote online here. On May 1, a blast email will be sent to all eligible voting members with a link to your personalized ballot. NASW Highlights Mental Health Awareness Month


During the month of May, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) observes Mental Health Awareness Month. This annual observance honors the millions of individuals affected by mental health conditions across the United States where approximately one in five adults will experience a diagnosable mental health condition each year.


NASW also recognizes the important contributions of social workers who are on the front lines of mental health care, providing services such as crisis intervention, assessment, treatment, and ongoing support.

NASW Letter To VA

NASW CEO Anthony Estreet has sent a letter to Secretary of Veterans Affairs Douglas Collins, warning that workforce reductions and back-to-office orders severely threaten the quality of care for millions of veterans. NASW is urging the VA to maintain workforce levels and suspend the back-to-office orders. Take time to read the full letter here


Member Spotlight: Board Member Found Her Calling in Social Work


Dafna Berman first heard of NASW when she was studying for her BSW at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. “Even in a faraway country, NASW and Social Work were interchangeable,” she said. “I always held NASW in high regard.” Berman now serves as director of Region VIII (Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin) on the NASW national board.
