DCR Chamber Supports Dakota County Businesses With Free Mask Distribution
On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the DCR Chamber, in community partnership with the Department of Employment and Economic Development and Skyline Exhibits, distributed masks to businesses in Dakota County. The DCR Chamber was given over 284,000 masks from the State of Minnesota to distribute to all Dakota County businesses and local area Chambers of Commerce in need.

The DCR Chamber will be hosting another drive-thru mask distribution on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, for businesses only. Look for an email in the coming days for more information about the distribution
Dakota County and Dakota County CDA Offering Small Business Relief Grants

The Dakota County Board of Commissioners has allocated $10 million to support small businesses that have had a financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This signature event raises funds for the DCR Chamber's Charitable Foundation which supports our programming, community outreach, and regional initiatives. A portion of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales will be allocated to the foundation.

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is casting for a New TV docuseries “RESTAURANT RECOVERY". Todd Graves, founder and CEO of Raising Cane’s, is traveling to cities across the country to help restaurants that are suffering or on the verge of closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Raising Canes will help 20 different restaurants with relief to help restaurants build back what they once had leading up to the enforced closures.

SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents of Minnesota Affected by Civil Unrest 

Minnesota businesses and residents affected by the civil unrest on May 27 through June 8, 2020, can apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The declaration covers Hennepin County and the adjacent counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, and Wright in Minnesota.  Learn more about SBA Disaster Loan Assistance HERE
Mendota Heights CARES Business Grants Program

The Mendota Heights City Council approved of the city’s participation in the Dakota County CDA Small Business Relief Grant Program on August 4, 2020. Mendota Heights is providing 10% of its CARES allocation (approximately $85,500) for small business assistance. Learn more HERE
Rosemount CARES Business Grants Program

The City of Rosemount has developed a business grant program to assist small businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Rosemount—Rosemount CARES Grant Program will provide grants of up to $10,000 to small businesses in need of support. The application period will be open from Monday, August 10, at 12:01 a.m. until August 28th. Applications will be reviewed, and a determination of qualification will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses will be notified by September 10, 2020. Learn more HERE

The Minnesota State Fair as we know and love may have been canceled for 2020, but that doesn't mean that we can't experience some of what the fair has to offer as we head into August. Tickets for the Food Parade have already been sold out, but the new Online Marketplace with over 200 State Fair vendors is open for business, and if you're ready to go for a road trip around the Twin Cities, the "Fair Food Finder" Facebook group tracks where you can find your favorite booths set up around town.
