Fuelling Our Business Community
We have ignited the 2020 policy season and set the direction for our advocacy at the provincial level. The Chamber board of directors approved six new policies and four renewing policies at their board meeting on February 19, 2020, that were just submitted to the Alberta Chambers of Commerce .
 
All policies that are carried locally, provincially and federally are a result of our members priorities and concerns. The recommendations in these policies will provide our roadmap in our conversations with the provincial government and ensure that Medicine Hat & District is kept top of mind so that we can capitalize on economic opportunities as they present themselves.

Medicine Hat Property Assessment Notices will begin arriving in resident’s mailboxes beginning February 28, 2020 for Single Family Residential and Farmland properties. Property owners of Non-Residential and Multi-Family properties will receive their notices a month later beginning April 9, 2020. Read more

For example our educational institutions must produce the skills and talent necessary to fill jobs needed for industry to produce goods and services. PowerUp Brooks is happening March 12th from 3pm-8pm at the Heritage Inn in Brooks. This is the third time this event has been held and each time it gets better and better. PowerUp gives local business people, managers, employees, owners, and blossoming entrepreneurs the opportunity to come together and focus on making their business, and themselves, better. Participants learn valuable, on-the-job skills for business, about new opportunities and how to get a piece of the pie, what others in the Region are working on, and what services are available to help businesses.
