We Are There

What if these were the days when Jesus was living with us? Where would we find Jesus? Here, in our congregation? In our neighborhoods? Perhaps somewhere else where our worlds are intertwined?

It isn’t hard to envision Jesus working in an impoverished neighborhood or one that suffered devastating loss due to a climate catastrophe. Maybe he’d be among the hungry in a war-torn region or comforting and seeking stability for the unhoused.

What if this is the time? What if this is the place? Will we be there alongside him and those he loves as he loves us?

Our incarnational theology teaches us that God is with us in each of those places and in each person bearing God’s image. People like Mama Nyayier [nya-yeer] in South Sudan, or Chanda and her volunteer peers from New Jersey, or Adrian in Miami — people whose stories we have shared over the past few weeks. Our shared faith proclaims that God is among us, and we are there with our neighbors who are experiencing hunger, oppression and injustice.

While we may not be there physically, we can walk beside Jesus. How, you wonder? Read more.

Give Today!

If you feel called to offer support to One Great Hour of Sharing, please send in your offering by Sunday, April 5, 2026. Thank you for your generosity!

Adequate emergency shelter and lack of affordable housing are issues that effect many in Oshkosh. Come to hear what our city council candidates have in mind to address one of the top communty concerns. Candidate Forum exclusively on housing.

Due to last weekend's winter storm, the sign making event has been re-scheduled for Sunday, March 22nd.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Join us as we prepare for the Path to Palm Sunday gathering on March 29 (See article below.) by creating signs that reflect our shared commitment to love our neighbors and seek justice. Together, we prepare not only signs, but our hearts for the journey toward Palm Sunday.

This will be a relaxed, creative time where people can gather, meet one another, and make signs to carry during the March 29 community gathering at Opera House Square.

Some basic supplies will be available, but they're limited. If you're able, please bring materials to share, such as:

poster board * cardboard * markers * paint pens

sticks * dowels * tape * glue * stencils * design ideas

Our signs will reflect the spirit of the gospel — love, justice, compassion, and care for our neighbors. Examples might include messages like:

Love Thy Neighbor * Peace Not War

Feed One Another * Fund Health Care

Protect Our Neighbors * Justice and Mercy

Trans People Belong * Blessed Are the Peacemakers

This gathering is open to all ages. Children and youth are welcome.

Across our community, people of faith are preparing to walk the journey toward Palm Sunday together.

In the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, ordinary people gathered in the streets, waving branches and proclaiming hope for a different kind of world — one shaped by love, justice, and peace.

During this Lenten season, congregations, and neighbors across Oshkosh are coming together to pray, learn, and show up for one another.

We will gather beginning at 2:30 p.m. for march, music, and message, and we will also be collecting food for the Oshkosh Area Food Pantry as a sign of care for our neighbors.

All are welcome to walk this path with us. Learn more about Oshkosh Path to Palm Sunday here.

UN town hall strikes chord with Presbyterian delegates attending the Commission on the Status of Women

Secretry-General lauded for attentiveness to women's concerns

March 11, 2026 | Darla Carter | Presbyterian News Service

NEW YORK — The Rev. Lorna Blackford was full of emotion after attending a town hall meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres this week.

Blackford, pastor of A Community of Faith in Raymond, Illinois, had heard the Secretary-General’s take on why there seems to be a pushback against women and girls as they demand gender equality and justice.

“A bitter wind is blowing around the world,” Guterres said during opening remarks at UN Headquarters. “That wind is hardening attitudes and fueling a backlash against women’s rights — a backlash that thrives on disinformation, that exploits fear and insecurity, that weaponizes culture wars, and that seeks to push women into silence." Read more.
