“The Louisville community accepted the challenge and turned out for us in huge numbers. They really had our backs and helped us win this amazing grant,” said Peace Education Program Interim Executive Director Rose Livingston. “The grant will allow us to continue our great work in the community. We plan to hire additional trainer/educators to work with community centers and groups that may not have adequate funding sources, as well as increase visibility with Jefferson County Public Schools. Peace has to start with one’s self and learning how to peacefully resolve conflict is one step in addressIng violence and healing our community.”
Continuous funding is essential especially now as opportunities open up more to work with students.
