From Jan’s desk …
What's in a number?

Independent Sector, in partnership with Do Good Institute, recently announced the new "Value of Volunteer Time." Nationally, this figure is $27.20/hr. While it's difficult to really quantify the service of volunteers, this estimate helps acknowledge the 63 million individuals who dedicate their time, talents and energy to making a difference in our nation. Local nonprofits in the Fox Valley - including Volunteer Fox Cities - use this number to demonstrate the enormous value or volunteers.

To me and to our 68 RSVP stations that rely on volunteers to fulfill their mission . . . volunteers are priceless!

Thank you for all that you do.

RSVP serves Outagamie, northern Winnebago and Calumet counties. We have 328 members on our roster. A total of 240 members reported 17,560 hours since the beginning of 2020.

The service includes cleaning home heating systems, changing filters, checking smoke alarms and replacing either the alarm or the batteries.
