Amidst the dormancy, we see color. Color that represents life springing forth and reminding us that all seasons do change! We certainly do not get to hold Mother Nature to our preferred calendar, but we are guaranteed that eventually the sun will shine, buds will bloom and we'll once again bare witness to one of the most inspiring seasons, spring.
I have a new appreciation for all those affected by the winter SAD (seasonal affective disorder). I too fell victim to a season of dormancy. With a long winter, that same nip in the air, nipped at me. However, I remain hopeful that in a few short weeks we'll be mowing the lawn and planting garden beds! And even though the cool temps remain, I am encouraged by all the green shoots emerging through the dingy layer winter left behind. Amazingly, when I look down, I'm lifted up!
Recently I caught a Facebook reel of Tom Hanks and he shared this...
"I wish I had known, that "this too shall pass". You feel bad right now? You feel pissed off? You feel angry? This too shall pass. You feel great? You feel like you know all the answers? You feel like everybody finally gets you? This too shall pass. Time is your ally, and if nothing else just wait, just wait it out..."
Obviously these words sound better when Tom Hanks speaks them with all his grace and wisdom. However, don't dismiss their value. Everything is seasonal. Bad things are seasonal. Good things are seasonal. And all you have to do to get from one to the other, is wait.
Difficult seasons can feel like a fresh blanket of winter debris. The work we do to adjust and emerge through the rubbish, is our own spring time! Take note of what's blossoming. Behold what you are producing and celebrate it!
Or maybe you aren't moving. Perhaps your suffering from empty-tank-syndrome and you're just waiting to be filled.
Tom Hanks says that's ok. Remember, "just wait, just wait it out..."
This too shall pass.

Initial training requires two in-person, three-hour sessions.
Workshop training: Thursdays, April 21 and April 28 from 6:00 – 9:00pm
Location: Calvary Community Church, Williams Bay WI
Cost is $40. Pre-registration is required.
The CARE Team is a collaboration of agencies and churches to provide help and advocacy for victims of violence.
Additional training to build skills will be offered monthly at no cost.

Paper Recovery will be on hand to ensure secure destruction of paper documents containing personal information. This free service, open to all community members, will be available from 9:00 am until noon on the following dates:
