Port Seeks Feedback on Sustainable Airport Master Plan

With Labor Day in the rearview mirror, Public Affairs began the new Chamber Year with a bracing presentation on the Port of Seattle’s Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP). SeaTac is now the ninth-busiest passenger airport in the nation, with operations growing 31% from
2013-17.

To accommodate continued expansion, the SAMP proposes more than 30 near-term projects for completion by 2027.

Chamber Supports T-Mobile with FCC

Earlier this year, T-Mobile announced its proposed merger with Sprint Wireless and the Chamber has offered its support. According to T-Mobile’s projections, the newly merged company will have 3,625 more direct internal employees nationwide and we think many of those will be located here.

We’re also hopeful the merger will benefit the I-405 suburban crescent, as well as the Central Puget Sound Area and the nation, by lowering prices, increasing competition, and moving all of America into the 5G future.
