We've had a busy fall at The Guild! This month, students went apple picking at Shelburne Farm and volunteered at the Watertown Food Pantry. One parent of an adult resident shared her family's story of finding connection at The Guild on our blog. Last Sunday, Guild families, staff, and community partners participated in the Flutie 5k for Autism at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. Read on for more news from The Guild!:

Parent Perspectives: A Feeling of Acceptance and Belonging

Guild Staff Present at Statewide Conference

Earlier this month, members of The Guild's clinical and family services departments presented at the Providers' Council's annual convention and expo. Their presentation, Using an Interdisciplinary Family-Centered Approach, focused on how a family-centered service framework can improve outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential programs. Guild School Students Volunteer at Local Food Pantry

Each week, a group of Guild School students and vocational services staff volunteer at the Watertown Food Pantry. Volunteers sort items into bins, bag vegetables, stock the shelves with food items, and check expiration dates. View more about the volunteer program here!
 
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Guild Community Participates in Flutie 5k For Autism

Last Sunday, we were joined by nearly 80 members of The Guild community for the annual Flutie 5k Run/Walk/Roll for Autism! We had an awesome day completing the course and enjoying post-race treats, performances, and an awards ceremony.

It's not too late to make a donation to Team Guild! As an official charity partner of the Flutie Foundation, all proceeds will go directly to The Guild's programs and services. You can donate to Team Guild here!
Guild Receives $10,000 Grant from CLA

We're excited to announce that The Guild has received a $10,000 grant from CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP)! The grant will be used to fund The Guild's programs and services that empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead high-quality lives. Read more on Facebook here.
