Autumn has been busy at The Guild! Students and adult residents have been getting out into the community to celebrate the season with various activities and our staff have had opportunities to share their expertise. Read on to learn more about these happenings and for a recap of the events you've supported in October!

2024 DSP Research Survey

Inspired by the Relias 2023 DSP Survey Report conducted with ANCOR, The Guild collaborated with Relias to replicate the survey within their own direct support professional (DSP) staff in order to compare their findings to nationwide data. Direct support is critical to advancing the equity, inclusion, and human rights of people with disabilities.

The Guild will be sharing findings from the report in a webinar hosted by the Providers Council on November 19.

Community Movie Night

The Guild hosted a screening of the documentary "In A Different Key," which explores the story of the first child diagnosed with Autism. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the history of autism and our understanding of it today. We hope to be able to put together similar events in the future!

Providers Council presentation

The Guild staff shared their expertise on adult behavior services at the annual Providers Council Conference. Post-COVID, The Guild is reimagining positive behavior supports to meet the ever-changing needs of our individuals.

Fun at the farm

The Guild School students and adults have been out enjoying the crisp fall air and other seasonal activities! The Guild School visited local farms for apple picking, hayrides, and furry friends. See photos from the outings here!

Fall Fest and Halloween costumes

Both the adult and youth programs hosted fall-themed dances this month. Individuals enjoyed a pizza party, dancing, seasonal crafts, and some spooky movies. Many came decked out in elaborate costumes! The halls were filled with superheroes, animals, and Halloween characters. Check out photos of the events here.

Team Guild rocked the Flutie 5K for Autism!

We had a great time bringing together The Guild community at the 25th Flutie 5K in Natick. We had 100 people join Team Guild and together we raised more than $37,000 to educate, encourage, and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities! Check out photos from the event here.

Thank you to our Flutie 5K sponsors!
