The seasons are changing at The Guild! As summer winds down, Guild students and residents are continuing regular routines and community excursions. We're preparing for a busy fall with a number of events and opportunities to get involved coming up soon! Read on for more news about what's coming, recognition of direct support professionals, and a photo exhibit featuring Guild students.

Thank you direct support professionals!

Every September, ANCOR hosts a Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Recognition Week. This year, we want to highlight three DSPs for their exceptional service with The Guild:

  • Abenaa Kwabena
  • Altide St. Pierre
  • Marriam Nassereka

The Guild is grateful to the incredible care staff at the heart of our organization. We could not educate, encourage, and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities without them!

Guild Community Movie Night

We are excited to invite you to join us in viewing the movie “In a Different Key – The Story of Autism” on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 5 to 7PM at the Maynard Fine Arts Center.

This spring several Guild team members had the opportunity to view the trailer for this movie and meet the Director at a conference. This sparked our interest and after further exploration we wanted to share this opportunity with the broader Guild community including families, guardians, staff and case managers who support our students and residents from DCF and DDS.

The WILLOW Fund Annual Luncheon

The Guild is proud to be sponsoring the first annual WILLOW Fund Luncheon, an event hosted by the International Institute of New England that highlights refugee and immigrant women’s resilience and amplifies their voices within the community.

Click here to learn more about the event on October 18, 2024.

Photography on the Farm

Guild School students regularly volunteer at Gaining Ground, our neighbors in Concord. The farm is currently hosting a photography exhibition about food insecurity in Massachusetts, featuring a photo of a couple of our volunteers hard at work! The exhibit is available on their grounds for free until October 19.

Empowering Potential 2

Guild Trustee Sue Connors hosted a second annual wine tasting and fundraiser for The Guild. Guests were invited to learn how to use a variety of AAC devices before Sue and Guild CEO Amy Sousa spoke about the importance of funding for communication devices, especially after individuals age out of state-funded speech and pathology programs. Check out some photos from the event here!

You can donate to support Guild programming, including speech and language resources for adult residents.
