Officers in Training
Officer Candidates don't begin their training in boot camp like enlisted Marines. Instead, they attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) and The Basic School (TBS). The requirements are strenuous, and parents of Officer Candidates are no less worried than enlisted Marines! We'll help you through the process.

During Boot Camp
Marine Speak Starts in Boot Camp
"Marine Speak" is an endearing term for the new language your recruit is learning in boot camp. We feel some keywords are essential to know as your recruit progresses through 13 weeks of training. This page explains terminology and some acronyms to help you make more sense of this new language your loved one is learning.
