Video Captioning

It's new, and you may not yet have it, but you are likely to, soon! An awesome improvement toward inclusion - captioning should be present on ALL videos - that's my strong opinion. HOW: Top of Home page > Start a Post > Add a video > Scroll down to Video Captions > Choose 'Notify me when captions are ready' so you can review/edit if necessary. Tap done. When notified, review, make any corrections, and Post.

Contact Info

If you've developed a habit of tapping this link under the headline of a profile to see the date you Connected with a 1st level member, it's no longer displayed there! iPhone users can still see the date using the mobile app to view a Connection's Contact Info. Otherwise, you must request a Connection download to see it. HOW: Tap Me in the navigation bar > Settings & Privacy > on the left margin tap Data Privacy > in the middle, tap Get a Copy of Your Data > Choose Want Something in Particular > Choose Connections > Request Archive. BONUS TIP: It is advisable to Download the larger data archive once a month! More on that in a future issue.

LinkedIn Banner

Did you know that LinkedIn's research has shown if you have an image in the area behind your headshot, visitors to your profile will remain on it for an additional 7 seconds? If you are a company owner/entrepreneur, consider having what we call a 'standing ad' that clearly states pertinent info about you, your services, product, logo, etc. TIP: If you're not a business owner, Google the closest metropolitan area followed by 'free image'. You will have many images from which to choose, all copyright-free. You may need to pick a few in order to get one with the right sizing; be sure it's a horizontal layout and remember your headshot will sit in the lower left corner.
