“To iCasino, or not to iCasino – is that the question?”

NCLGS Summer Meeting in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY: Experts will cut through the clutter of social media and news reports to focus on the most pressing issues surrounding the ongoing debate between iCasino and brick-and-mortar operations when the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States convenes its Summer Meeting, July 9-12 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

Four presenters who have testified before state legislatures and regulators across the country over the past six months will appear before the NCLGS Committee on Casinos, which will be co-chaired by Steve Geller, a former Florida Senator who is the founder and general counsel of NCLGS, and Rep. Steve Bashore of Oklahoma. Panelists will include:

  • Shannon McCracken, Senior Director of Government Relations, Churchill Downs
  • John Pappas, State Advocacy Director, iDEA Growth
  • Ryan Soultz, Vice President Government Affairs, Boyd Gaming
  • Mark Stewart, EVP and General Counsel, The Cordish Companies

The NCLGS semiannual meetings – which are open to the public – attract numerous state legislators as well as regulators, gaming operators and suppliers, attorneys, lobbyists, media, and other stakeholders to discuss all aspects of regulated gaming.

The Summer Meeting also includes:

  • A special forum titled “The Big Picture: Focus on the Future Gaming Leaders”
  • Three keynotes, including the Attorney General of West Virginia and the Executive Director of the Kentucky Council on Problem Gambling
  • 11 NCLGS committee panel discussions – full agenda available on website
  • Two luncheons and receptions, as well as other evening events to be announced
  • Happy Hour at Caesars Southern Indiana on the evening of July 11

In addition, Gaming Laboratories International is again co-locating its annual Regulator Seminar with the NCLGS Summer Meeting on July 9, and the Sports Betting Regulators Association will hold a general session open to all attendees.

NCLGS Summer Meeting is approved for 12 CLE credits with the State Bar of Nevada.
