Dear Serra Parents and Guardians,
Today we began the first day for in-person teaching and learning in the hybrid model for the lower division students. There was great representation from the freshmen class who were on campus today for the first time to meet their teachers and classmates in person. The sophomores were quick to re-familiarize themselves with the procedures at Serra.
In an effort to share with you the progress we are making with teaching and learning in the hybrid, we decided to start a report card. At the end of the first day we are excited to give a report card summary of the day to identify the different areas of success in our program and identify the areas to pay attention to moving forward. The Pandemic Recovery Framework from the county and the detailed plans of the team continue to drive our decision making.
Overall, we scored an 'A' on the first day of lower division. The boys were on time and teachers were prepared as we went through the entrance protocols. We continue to see the return on investment in facility improvements, technology and professional development allowed us to facilitate sophisticated teaching in a hybrid environment.
The boys had time to socially distance and be outside for lunch. They are getting used to being at Serra and we couldn't be happier to have your sons here. Tomorrow will be even better and great things are to come.
