A note from Chapter President, Susan Stein Kregar, CAE, CNAP Desert Lotus Group

Hello NAWIC Members and Friends,

Winter has arrived in the Old Pueblo! I wore a sweater during the day -- twice!

As we wind down this year, our board and committee members are continuing to plan a fantastic 2022 filled with networking, education, mentoring, and fun events and resources. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:
January 11 -- 5:30 p.m. -- Chapter Meeting
February 9 -- 7:30 a.m. -- Annual Executive Breakfast
February 12 -- 3:00 p.m. -- Gaslight Theater -- The Three Musketeers (see below for details)
March 6-12 -- Women in Construction Week (WIC Week)
August 13 -- NAWIC 19th Annual Shirley Dail Bowling Tournament

Plus, consider attending the Spring conference that will be held April 28 - May 1, 2022 in Irvine, CA. Click Here for Details.

Note that the January meeting will be held on a Tuesday. Per the survey responses, Tuesday edged out Wednesday as the preferred meeting day choice. Though the Annual Executive Breakfast will remain on a Wednesday.

Nominations for the WIC of the Year are now being accepted. See below for details. We have plenty of members who are deserving of recognition.

Finally, THANK YOU to these ladies who stepped up and into new leadership roles on our chapter's board of directors.
Secretary -- Yvette Pederson, Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA)
Director -- Sandy Lipe, West Coast Roofing
Director -- Jessica Ogiba, KE&G Construction
We appreciate your leadership!

That's it! I'm keeping it short and sweet this month.
May 2022 be filled with good health, happiness, many successes, and a lot of celebrations for each of us.

Cheers,
Susan Stein Kregar
President 2021-2022

Alyssa Ford
Our apologies for including the incorrect picture of Alyssa in our July newsletter. Please read Alyssa's bio again with her correct picture:

My name is Alyssa Ford and I am from Tacoma, WA. I enjoy playing golf and spending time outdoors. I am starting my junior year at University of Arizona studying to get a B.S. in Urban and Regional Development with a minor in Business Administration. I am also starting the track to get my PMP certification and am planning on getting my Master in Construction Management.
I had the amazing opportunity to spend my summer as an intern with a company, E2 Optics which is a Women-Owned Small Business with headquarters in Denver, CO and locations nationwide. Over the span of my time working there, I was able to be exposed to and spend time on a construction site for 4 weeks. This experience has fostered my interest and excitement for working in the Construction Industry. I am excited and eager to learn more as I start my progress in construction.
I am looking forward to getting involved and making connections in the NAWIC Tucson Chapter!
Debra Keiser
Debra Keiserā€™s experience in the construction industry started over 10 years ago when she worked for a local commercial general contractor.
