Meet & Greet: October 20th, 11am

Join other potential VITA volunteers at our Meet & Greet at the Spring Hill Library to recap our successful 2021 tax season, discuss the upcoming season, and learn about the COVID-19 safety precautions that will be taken in the new filing year.

Give Thanks Give Food Drive
During the month of October, give back to the community by donating non-perishable food items that will benefit Hernando pantries & shelters.

All food will be distributed during United Way's "5 Days of Caring" the week before Thanksgiving. Email [email protected] to request a collection box or to coordinate donations of food.
United Way's 10th Annual Dementia Care Seminar
United Way is hosting their 10th Annual Dementia Care Seminar for families and caregivers of loved ones living with dementia or Alzheimer's. This FREE seminar is open to the community, and attendees will learn valuable information from presenters Gary LeBlanc, Educational Director of the Dementia Spotlight Foundation, and Michelangelo Mortellaro of Mortellaro Law. Topics include the A-Zs of dementia, caregiver advocacy, elder law and financial information, communication tactics, and much more.

What We've Been Up To
July's Stuff the Bus Results
UW's annual county-wide school supply drive brought in over 6,359 lbs. of school supplies, which were distributed to 97 classrooms in 21 schools. Additionally, $8,817.59 in monetary donations were collected to purchase additional special request items for the teacher volunteers.

Electric: 28 shut-offs prevented, totaling $10,358

Food: $7,900 in gift cards
Total invested in 2021: $149,286
