CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS CARDINALS ❤️❤️

Soccer

The Cardinal soccer team wrapped up a great season with a disappointing loss in the state semifinals to the eventual state champion, Parkview Baptist Eagles. The coaches would like to congratulate all of the seniors for their great careers and for the incredible example they have set for the younger classes. The team finished with an overall record of 11-6-3 and reached the semifinals this year. By competing in Division III this season, valuable experience was gained that will only be a positive for the future of the program.

Basketball

The Cardinal basketball headed into the playoffs during the Mardi Gras break, looking to take advantage of hosting first round opponent Beekman Charter. The team started out a bit slow and needed to adjust to the competition falling behind early 6-1 in the first quarter. The Cardinals made a push to finish the 1st with an 11-6 lead. From then on the team never looked back, outscoring Beekman in each quarter to get a 51-24 win. Leah Varsico ’26 led the team in scoring with 19 points and 8 assists. Libby Fitzpatrick ’26 followed closely in scoring with 18 points while Cami Davis ’23 turned in 9 points and grabbed a team high 8 rebounds. The Cardinals then traveled to Baton Rouge to take on the 6th seed in Glen Oaks in the regional round. The team gave a valiant effort but ran out of gas losing the contest with a final score of 40-27. Leah Varisco5 ’26 led the team in scoring with 10 points while Taylor Robert ’25 turned in 6 points and 7 rebounds. Libby Fitzpatrick ’26 and Cami Davis ’23 both chipped in 5 and 4 points respectively to finish the game. The team all season played with great effort and came together when it mattered most. It was a fun exciting season and the coaches are proud of every single player for all their hard work and dedication all season.
