THE KNIT WITS

One of the important mission-oriented work groups in our church consists of 9 knitters, fondly known as the Knit Wits. These ladies meet every Wednesday morning, and just this year have lovingly made the following:

• 46 lap robes for Lutheran charities
• 34 lap robes for Hope Hospice
• 174 items for Alma Illery Medical Center
• 12 scarves & 12 mittens for North Hills Community Outreach
• 20 hats for Northside Common Ministries.

Last week, Bonnie and Bernie (two members of the group) displayed their mission work at a community event at Michael’s arts and crafts store on McKnight Rd.

Thank you to all who share their time and talents to bring comfort to those in need.

Northmont is collecting food and items to be distributed to needy families By Northside Common Ministries (NCM)

Bags are located at the sanctuary entrances and on the table by the tower entrance. Please return your bags to the library across from the church office no later than Sunday, October 12th.

Reminder: Please keep items to Regular Size and NO GLASS containers. Items always in need: Peanut Butter (Plastic), Pasta Sauce (Plastic or Can), Pasta, Rice, Canned Fruits or Vegetables, Soup (Condensed or Hearty).

Monetary contributions are welcome, make checks out to Northmont UPC and put “NCM Food Pantry” on the memo line. Or use the pew envelope to donate cash. Be sure to write NCM Food Pantry on the envelope!
