A KlezCalifornia Partnership
Violins of Hope is eight weeks of concerts, exhibitions, films, lectures, and community conversations around the Bay Area showcasing more than fifty string instruments played by Jews in concentration camps during the Holocaust.
Many of these events (next one: Saturday, February 1!) present music "Along the Trade Route" and feature violinist Cookie Segelstein (klezmer) and a rotating cast of three additional violinists playing other ethnic music. Plus "The City Without Jews," a film with live music composed and played by Alicia Svigals. Some events are already sold out, so don't wait to get your ticket.
