PSC Broadband Grant Opportunity

Recently, Governor Walker announced that the PSC will conduct a second grant proceeding in FY 2018 to award a portion of the additional funds approved in the recent 2017-19 budget. For this round, the state has $7.5 million to spend on broadband grants!   Application materials are now posted on the PSC website. Grant applications are due January 25, 2018.

The PSC expects to hold 4-6 seminars around the state to discuss the application process for this grant round. Details regarding the PSC's outreach program will be posted on the PSC website as available.

WCA's Hochkammer Receives 2017 Chancellor's Award

UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen presented 13 awards at the institutions' annual Chancellor's Awards event recently in Madison.

WCA Outreach Manager Jon Hochkammer was named the "2017 Friend and Advocate" at the event.

The awards recognize the exceptional teaching, outreach, collaborations and public service of both UW Colleges and UW-Extension employees, as well as valued partners and supporters.

New Monroe County Justice Center Opens its Doors

After decades of debate leading to a referendum, the Monroe County Justice Center project is now completed and open. 

County officials and the public took part in a dedication ceremony and open house in late September.
County Mutual Holds Successful 6th Annual Law Enforcement Challenge

The Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation and Community Insurance Corporation (County Mutual) held their successful 6th Annual Advanced Law Enforcement Risk Training (A.L.E.R.T.) Law Enforcement Challenge on October 4, 2017. 

Close to 30 member law enforcement departments from around Wisconsin competed at the event.
